Why We Need To Follow International Example....

Posted by Paul | February 17, 2013 at 07:59 PM ET

JTA close friend Mats from Sweden has a mind-blowing report for you. While this obviously won't apply to most of our American readers, click through to see where in the world rare Hasbro product is actually successfully arriving. And see how this shows how simple the success of the Star Wars line should indeed be if product could just makes its way to brick and mortar retail!!! America should follow Sweden's example, and no, this isn't another ABBA promo post....

Hi JTA!

Today I went on a major toyhunt (spent 5 hours in a car) to see what kind of fun I could find. I was hoping to find a Darth Vader Saga Legends from 2011 as those figures still can be found in Sweden. But I had no luck with that one. However I did find something else worthwhile and I´m going to break it down for you. Sorry I could not find any 2013 items except LEGO stuff.

My sister visited 2 stores near her but they had nothing new. Just the same old Vintage figures with some wave 16 figures left. They only had wave 1 of both Clone Wars 2012 and Movie Heroes. So no luck there.

I myself went to 8 stores and there was alot of grim news there to with some exceptions.

The toychain called BR-Leksaker had only some leftover figures from Vintage TPM, Imperial Navy Commanders, Wave 1 MH, Clone Wars wave 1 and some other minor figures and ships. I´m getting tired of seeing those stupid Clone Wars 2-packs at every store I visit. I guess we will have them for a long, long time.

I went to 3 stores called ICA Maxi (foodstore with alot of other things to like toys, books, tv:s and so on) and in total I found 10 Commander Fox figures in these stores. Each store had like 3 of them hanging on the pegs along with 3-5 Commander Wolffe phase 2, 3-5 Captain Rex phase 2 and some other minor figures from the same wave.

But the big thing was of course TRU in Sweden. They do have the most Star Wars stuff and I did find some great things there. I found 3 Naboo Starfighter´s in the same store as well as 2 Republic Fighter Tanks. On the figure front there was nothing new just old figures with some leftover wave 16 figures and a few Lost Line figures. Most Star Wars stuff was marked down for sale but there is no way that any of it will go away anytime soon as it seems like Sweden gets more and more of the same old stuff.

The first 3 pictures in this report is from stores and the last 2 is want I bought

Well that´s the end of my report

May the Force be with you always

Mats
