There is a surprising "new" variation to the Yoda (VC20) figure. A while back our friends at Yakface.com documented the change in Yoda's cloak, but while shooting new galleries for our reviews, we just discovered a new one. Click through to see what we have found.
We just learned that Hasbro has released the Yoda (VC20) figure in two distinct paint operations. One has a shiny look to it while the other has a wash to give the sculpt some depth and substance. (We feel the one with the wash looks infinitely better.) The reason why this didn't come up when Yakface.com documented the cloak change is because Yoda with the "solid" cloak comes with both the shiny face and the "dull" face (for lack of a better term).
We checked out our carded collection and also found this very detail to be fact; that both are available with the solid cloak. Interesting huh? See our comparison shots below. Eagle-eyed viewers may also see subtle differences in the color of Yoda's pants and undershirt as well as the way the back of his head has been painted (which sadly still looks like some fine Swiss cheese). The crazy thing here? Despite ALL of these tweaks, Hasbro still ignored matching the colors of his hands and feet to his head. Not one version of Yoda matches. Leave your comments below!
We're in the middle of updating our reviews and will let you know when complete comparison pics and new galleries are generated.
