Frustration Brews Outside Of US Borders

Posted by Paul | August 06, 2012 at 01:47 PM ET

It seems that Hasbro even gives out canned responses to Mexican readers too. Click through to read email correspondence between JTA reader Roberto and Hasbro.

Roberto's Email:

Hasbro team,

I'm a customer from Mexico and I've been in the Star Wars collecting hobby since the original Kenner line of Star Wars.

I stopped buying Hasbro Figures after Return of the Sith since I thought that many figures were low quality, but when Hasbro released The Vintage Collection, I've been buying most of them. Many of my figures I've bought them through small retailes that imports from the USA, but other figures I've acquired them with your big customers as Wal Mart/Aurrera, and big Mexican supermakets like Mega Comercial and Chedraui.

Although the distribution of TVC have had many issues and complains related with its distribution (which I agree), I have to say that I've seen all the waves with Mexican retailers (as Wal Mart Mexico and others).

What concerns me is your announcement that the last wave of this year of TVC will be a limited one, and just online through other small web shops retailers. That means that it will be almost difficult to get it overseas the USA.

So I'd like to know if your team has thought in a way to let the overseas fans buy this figures, without excessive shipping costs, using the usual big stores where we can buy the Hasbro products?

Thank you for your attention Hasbro team,

Sincerely,

Roberto

P. S: I'm willing to expend my money with your products, please consider you overseas customers!

Hasbro's Response:

Hi Roberto,

Thank you for contacting Hasbro. I appreciate your taking the time to share your feedback with us regarding the availability of Star Wars Vintage figures; specifically the last wave.

Roberto, I completely understand and appreciate your frustrations. Having collected for so many years, and being a faithful Hasbro consumer, this must be completely frustrating for you; as well as your fellow collectors. Please be assured I am as concerned as you are about this situation. Please also be assured that your comments have been shared with our Marketing and Sales Departments so that they are also aware of this.

In the meantime, our only suggestion is to continue checking your local stores, as well as online retailers. Our U.S. retailers include Toys R Us, Kmart, Walmart and Target.

We thank you for taking the time to contact us and sharing your observations.
