At the end of the High Republic era, a former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes – but the forces they confront turn out to be far more sinister and personal than anticipated.
The creators bragged about it as the gayest Star Wars ever; for that, they alienated a huge part of the fanbase. As a result, Lucasfilm decided to cancel the show ceremoniously after one pitiful season, and longtime Star Wars fans rejoiced as it was one of the worst storylines the franchise had seen. With a ludicrous plot, laughable dialogue (namely the chanting), and the lack of strong, masculine male role models, the series once again focused mainly on a sexless female cast that did nothing for anyone. Dopey-looking Jedi Knight Yord Fandar seems like more of the same. This guy is the actor who said Anakin was “bad” for blowing up the Death Star in an attempt to blur the lines between good and evil. That is absolute lunacy. Disney Star Wars The Acolyte is absolute garbage, and while Hasbro produced the action figures beautifully, who will want these terrible characters? With much too much yellow and brown, the costuming is awful, and honestly, let’s admit that Jedi are not especially interesting. The action figure, however, is well-made, and if you’re clever with your displays, you could easily add this to a “Battle of Geonosis” display from Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. The all-new action figure is well-designed and beautifully painted. Hasbro perfectly fitted the soft-goods robe for the action figure’s more diminutive stature. And the detail in the face faithfully replicates the on-screen character’s features well. These characters from The Acolyte are a money pit for Hasbro. We anticipate an unending supply at Ollie’s shortly. Hopefully, Hasbro will learn from this and stop wasting expensive tooling costs on characters no one wants. In the meantime, longtime collectors and fans will have to be miserable until Hasbro sprinkles the next Lucas-era Star Wars character into the lineup.
