It's remarkable how much attention Hasbro is focusing on The Black Series 6-inch line that falls under the George Lucas era of Star Wars as of late. They're bringing longtime collectors characters from the Original Trilogy films. They also delved deeply into the Expanded Universe and added all-time favorite video game characters, like Darth Malak and Bastila Shan, into the lineup. These characters from Knights Of The Old Republic have a devoted following. And collectors of Star Wars action figures are thrilled to add these characters to the basic figure line. Hasbro introduced Darth Malak into the Star Wars action figure line in 2007's 30 (77-07) line. Released as Darth Malak (30 35), the figure was an instant hit, commanding a notable premium on the aftermarket today. But with limited articulation and a lack of technological advances, collectors began wondering when Hasbro would make another attempt at developing this character into a new and improved action figure. Thanks to the all-new figure in The Black Series line, now we know how far Hasbro can go with action figure making. Darth Malak is a triumph, and we're happy to see how much detail they gave this figure, especially in the head sculpt. It's enormous. It's approximately 6.5 inches tall, towering over most other figures in the line, and has exquisite tooling and impressive attention to detail. The character is missing the lower jaw, and Hasbro tooled two separate plates t cover the character's hideous injury. They also developed a new lightsaber, which breaks down into a hilt and a red blade. A soft-goods cape is hanging down the right shoulder and side of the figure. And despite its size, it has lovely movement. You can pose this figure easily and in many ways to suit your collection. Part of the basic figure lineup, Darth Malak should be considered an instant hit in The Black Series 6-inch line. Hasbro designed a spectacular sculpt and included a stunning paint job. You're going to be impressed with this figure.
