1-JAC - TBS [P4] - Six Inch Figures (OWK08)

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set years after the climactic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced the corruption of his friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned Sith Lord Darth Vader.

1-JAC is another lazy effort from Hasbro, but it’s also an expected release. Hasbro is looking for the easiest way to produce a line of action figures to support the Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. They keep lowering our expectations with releases like 1-JAC, for example. It’s not that 1-JAC is a terrible release because it isn’t. But collectors are desperate for some newness in the line, not just repacks and repaint or action figures with new stuff glued onto their parts. Hasbro took 2018’s TBS [P3] 4-LOM (67) figure, added a button to the left arm, and then added holsters to the upper legs. They also repainted the action figure to give it a fresh coat of paint and a color scheme that accurately reflects the on-screen character. 1-JAC looks good for what it is. But don’t expect to be wowed because you already know what this action figure offers collectors. 1-JAC serves as an excellent complementary figure for the main characters, but so few characters are released from this series that our collections feel incomplete. To date, the Droid Factory line produced a 3.75-inch version of this character for The Vintage Collection, but fans are waiting for Hasbro to release an all-new 4-LOM figure, and once they do that, collectors will happily welcome a retool of it to produce 1-JAC too. This figure is exclusive to Walmart and costs an astounding $27.99. The original 4-LOM tooling still holds up well, so we understand why Hasbro quickly produced 1-JAC for the line without changing much. Hopefully, more characters will arrive to help flesh out this Star Wars story a little better.
