Obi-Wan Kenobi is set years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced the corruption of his friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The Fifth Brother was a character introduced in Star Wars Rebels and has remained a favorite background character among Star Wars fans and collectors. During the promotion of The Force Awakens, Hasbro produced 2015’s TFA Fifth Brother 3/75-inch action figure, much to the chagrin of super-articulated collectors. And then, a few months later, they created a “shampoo bottle” of the character in a 12-inch scale. But soon after, the character drifted off into the sunset, never heard of until now. Lucasfilm dusted off this character for The Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series to give Reva (Third Sister) some support. And while they remained faithful to the character’s appearance from Star Wars Rebels, you can see now that they added some diversity to the realistic version of the character by having an Asian action portray the “realistic” interpretation of the Fifth Brother (Inquisitor) character. The Vintage Collection wasn’t as lucky as The Black Series 6-inch collecting community was to get this figure very shortly after the end of the first season of the show. And as usual, Hasbro produced a stellar action figure, and fans of the show will become eager to add this character to their collections.

If you weren’t aware, the Fifth Brother (Inquisitor) design was based on unused concept art for The Force Awakens. While so much of Rebels had focused on Ralph McQuarrie’s gorgeous designs, it was cool that the creators of the Rebels series branched out a bit more to give the Star Wars world a genuinely unique first-time character design. The Fifth Brother (Inquisitor) is the silent enforcer type, and some have compared this vital character to a less intimidating version of Savage Opress from The Clone Wars. And in Rebels, not much story developed to explain the Fifth Brother (Inquisitor) character. We’re happy to see this worked out further in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Many accused the character in Rebels of being ineffective and disappointingly underdeveloped. But many have changed their minds since Lucasfilm brought the character back in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The character’s Black Series 6-inch action figure is relatively excellent, although we’re not ready to claim that the likeness is perfect. It resembles the on-screen character a little, but when you look at stills of Fifth Brother (Inquisitor), you’ll see that the on-screen character is much creepier and eerie than what Hasbro captured in the action figure.

The figure has a fantastic articulation system, and you can achieve many poses as you require. The joints are well-hidden and possess smooth movement. This standard of articulation is commonplace in The Black Series 6-inch line, which is fantastic. The paint job is excellent too and captures a fair likeness of the actor who portrayed the character, although it’s not a perfect likeness. The figure comes with a hilt ring, and it has a plug where you can attach it to the hole on the figure’s back. When not connected, you’re left with an aesthetically displeasing gap on the figure’s back, which may not be a quick point of aggravation for you. Hasbro also included two removable red lightsaber blades, so you can have the figure pose the lightsaber fully ignited. The blades are long when fully assembled, and the figure looks incredible when wielding it. Still, it feels like Fifth Brother (Inquisitor) should have come with more accessories since Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) came with significantly more. The Fifth Brother (Inquisitor) is an exciting addition to The Black Series 6-inch figure line. We’re not sure how many Star Wars fans are still interested in this action figure, but it should maintain relative popularity while the show is active.
