Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) - TBS [P4] - Six Inch Figures (OWK01)

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced the corruption of his friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series finished its first season, and literally “days” after it ended, Hasbro managed to get out new products supporting the series in the form of action figures for both The Vintage Collection and The Black Series 6-inch lines. All of the action figures produced for this series exceeded collectors’ expectations. Most notable was the one-to-one ratio of a 6-inch figure to a 3.75-inch action figure counterpart Hasbro consistently applies, which makes the playing ground fairer for everyone involved. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) in The Black Series 6-inch line turned out exceptionally well. However, it comes with fewer accessories than The Vintage Collection version but a unique accessory exclusive to the 6-inch version: a tool of some sort probably designed to work on L0-LA59 as needed. The new take on Obi-Wan Kenobi is interesting. The character is a vagabond, a renegade, and a vagrant, and the revised costume of this universally adored Jedi Master captures these details nicely. And it’s excellent to have multiple action figures from the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series ready to go at the end of the first season. We can’t emphasize this enough.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) is an all-new action figure. It has a superb articulation system and obtains nearly any pose you prefer. Once again, Hasbro shows us how far they have come with fitted soft goods, as Obi-Wan Kenobi’s brown cloak fits the action figure like a glove, especially in the arms, and Hasbro hemmed it perfectly, and it has a lovely drape. The all-new tooling given to Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) is terrific. Hasbro consistently improves upon the figures in the 6-inch action figure in both deco and articulation. Obi-Wan Kenobi comes with an impressive portrait. The likeness is an exact match to actor Ewan McGregor, although it doesn’t explain how the character ages so quickly for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The rest of the figure’s design is equally impressive. The outfit is exquisitely executed, and the interaction of soft-goods materials with the molded parts is seamless. You’ll enjoy what Hasbro employed here, and if you liked the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series, you now have action figures to accompany your displays and dioramas. And you’ll be able to recreate them with incredible authenticity. That’s what this action figure brings to the table.

As we mentioned, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) comes with fewer accessories than TVC’s Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) (VC245) figure. Hasbro only included one version of L0-LA59, but it comes a little more articulated. It has a removable leg section where you can replace the included “clear” stand to clip it to Obi-Wan Kenobi’s finger as needed to recreate a hovering effect. Hasbro also included the same blaster pistol the TVC figure received, and it fits into a strapped and functioning holster when not in use. The gun is a bit brighter on the 6-inch version. Hasbro also included a hilt and a detachable blue lightsaber blade. Coincidentally, the hilt looks and feels slightly too big, which is a departure from The Vintage Collection version as those accessories were extraordinarily thin and small. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) looks stunning, holding the lit lightsaber with one or both hands. You can attach the hilt via the plug to the left side of the figure when not in use. Overall, we feel that the Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) action figure is one of the many highlights of Hasbro’s most recent 6-inch action figures. And we’re happy to see Hasbro get them out more quickly.
