After a battle with Imperial scout troopers, Leia encountered a strange, furry being – an Ewok. He took her to his village where she would remain until she and Han led a ground assault on an Imperial shield generator.

Hasbro is an easy target of ridicule for many collectors of The Vintage Collection 3.75-inch line. But over the last few years, Hasbro has reworked the line and what they’re offering collectors, and ultimately TVC is giving The Black Series 6-inch line a run for its money. Hasbro still knows how to troll the zealous 3.75-inch Star Wars collecting community, and Princess Leia (Ewok Village) is a picture-perfect example of this. If there is a single action figure that personifies “desperately needed update” in the 3.75-inch action figure line, it’s Princess Leia in her Ewok ceremonial gown. For the 6-inch line, they’re referring to this figure as Princess Leia (Ewok Village), which makes perfect sense, and we approve. It also makes us believe Hasbro might be producing an Ewok Village for “someone.” It was never called that anywhere but in the toy line. More importantly, we hope and pray that Hasbro is already working behind the scenes developing a 3.75-inch super-articulated version of this character once and for all, so we can have a beautiful sculpture like this figure is, but in “our” scale. We’d go so far as to say that Princess Leia (Ewok Village) is perfect. The likeness is excellent for a “Leia” character. Hasbro always struggled to recreate Carrie Fisher’s likeness, but they have been doing a fantastic job in the fourth phase of The Black Series line. You can add this outfit based on Return Of The Jedi to the “approved” list because it’s amazingly a work of art.

General Organa didn’t have that many outfits in Episode VI, but the ones she did wear either completed a uniform or made her scantily clad. Princess Leia (Ewok Village) falls under “scantily clad” because of how high the cut in the gown is but is certainly more conservative than what she wore in Jabba’s palace. As an action figure, Princess Leia (Ewok Village) is another beautiful work by Hasbro. Although there are not too many Endor-specific action figures in the 6-inch line this far, Hasbro is adding them slowly but surely to help build up the collection. And we have two Ewoks now, so that’s working in Princess Leia’s favor. Coincidentally, the figure comes with the same blaster pistol as 1998’s POTF2 [FF/TKC] Princess Leia Organa (In Ewok Celebration Outfit) figure. You have to wonder if Hasbro added it for posterity or nostalgia. We’re not sure. But more interesting than the homage-paying blaster pistol is the Ewok staff. It looks like Wicket W. Warrick’s, so is that the next Ewok character Hasbro wants to add to the lineup? Anything is possible. Perhaps they’ll produce an Ewok multipack to help give collectors of this line a furball army to help beat the Galactic Empire. But we hope they’ll concurrently add Rebel Commandos and Endor Rebel Soldiers to the line. There are so many “Battle of Endor” characters needed! For those who love the film, the holes in their collection feel unfillable!

Princess Leia (Ewok Village) comes with a beautiful head sculpt that captures Carrie Fisher’s likeness well. The portrait uses much more plastic than the average head sculpt because of the massive amount of hair and braids. Hasbro didn’t cut back on the amount of detail they added to this portrait, so we imagine they incurred quite an expense to make this likeness turn out as screen-accurate as it did. The Photo Real paint operations look fantastic, and the makeup doesn’t look too heavy. Due to the nature of the costume’s design, you don’t get a whole bunch of lower body movements out of this action figure. Hasbro tooled slits in the gown in a way to allow for as much leg movement as possible. The figure appears all-new to us, but we’re not 100% confident in that assessment. Something in the upper legs looks familiar, and we believe that Hasbro wouldn’t design an Original Trilogy character without using some existing parts to help amortize their costs. No matter how you feel about the third installment of the Original Trilogy or the unique costume General Organa wears during this sequence of film – like what was the reason she changed into this gown, this action figure is excellent. It gives us hope that it might be coming to The Vintage Collection soon. If Hasbro doesn’t make it in 3.75-inch, we will revolt. We're serious Hasbro. Stop trolling and produce!
