A mysterious Imperial who keeps a low profile in a safehouse on Nevarro, the Client is the face behind an otherwise faceless bounty, an off-the-record assignment with a high value.

So, wait. Is it just another old white guy? The Mandalorian continues to gain momentum and introduce new characters into the lore. The development of some engages fans, and others offer more questions than answers. The Client is one of the more interesting characters in the show. Associated with the remnants of the Galactic Empire after its fall, The Client made his home on Nevarro, famous for its cantina. He was behind the child’s apprehension named Grogu and commissioned many bounty hunters in his search. As we all know, Din Djarin successfully brought Grogu to The Client but ultimately worked with Greef Karga and developed a plot to murder The Client. Thanks to the decoyed call of Moff Gideon, The Client succumbed to fatal wounds when Stormtroopers and Death Troopers opened fire on the cantina. We have a 6-inch action figure of this character, but we don’t think it turned out all that well. It reminds us of one of the puppets from Genesis’ “Land Of Confusion” music video.

We can’t help but notice the Sith Lord-like costume the character wears. Grogu has Force powers, and any Sith Lord would want to take advantage of them, so could the character’s background be Sith-related? The Client carries around an ice cream maker full of beskar armor, and Hasbro included this prominent accessory with the figure. The amount of detail on the beskar storage container is gorgeous, and the blocks of beskar fit perfectly inside it. Hasbro did an excellent job with the figure’s design. The articulation system is fantastic, and the details and paint operations are lovely, but is the character strong enough to warrant an action figure release? And should we expect to see The Client in The Vintage Collection at some point? But something went awry with the figure’s head sculpt. That face looks like a grumpy gramps and much too old compared to the character we see in the Disney+ series. We don’t know if this figure has enough interest to warrant a purchase, which likely is why it’s one per case.

Collectors of The Black Series 6-inch line haven’t been content with the waxy-like appearance of human skin on the most recent action figures. And the same issue exists in The Client. Despite an awkward head sculpt, we believe that this action figure will meet collectors’ expectations otherwise. If you’re a fan of The Mandalorian, then this is a character you’ll need for your displays. The Black Series line is confounding collectors. They want to know why Hasbro releases so many repaints in the line that offers a higher profit margin, yet, we constantly see one repeat after another released in the basic figure line or as exclusives. And other collectors have accused Hasbro of no longer trying with the line since it feels filled with carbonized action figures and Gaming Greats repaints. That said, when they tool new parts, it makes collecting the line worthwhile. The Client is a good action figure despite our critical interpretation of the head sculpt. But that included accessory is incredible. Still, we hope they will focus on more interesting characters, especially aliens.
