Born and confined to the cloning facility on Kamino, young Omega serves as assistant to Chief Medical Scientist Nala Se. Offered an opportunity to escape, Omega joins the Bad Batch on their adventures.

OK. So is Omega (Kamino) an avatar or something? Because science makes it impossible for her to exist. Clones, including human ones, can never be the opposite sex of the host. It’s scientifically impossible. So this character doesn’t exist. Omega (Kamino) is a character that summarizes what’s wrong with Disney Star Wars. Desperate to be a princess and expected to battle with the best of the boys, Omega (Kamino) is a new member of The Bad Batch that has found her way within some hearts of the Star Wars community. Still, many have little to no interest in the character. For us, Omega (Kamino) is reminiscent of the first live-action Wonder Woman. Although beautiful and adored by most, Kathy Lee Crosby had the wrong hair color, the wrong outfit, and a lousy storyline to portray Wonder Woman. Omega (Kamino) reminds us of that ill-fated Wonder Woman television movie (from the blonde hair to the red, white, and blue costume). And it also makes us realize how modern entertainment makers no longer understand what makes an intriguing and beloved female character and how one designs them to last through the ages and become a part of pop culture. Will there ever be a long-lasting and memorable female lead, or has that passed forever?

We don’t get the appeal for Omega (Kamino), but that’s just one opinion. If you like The Bad Batch and Omega, more power to you. The good news is that if you do like this character, you will thoroughly appreciate what Hasbro designed for you in The Black Series [Phase IV] 6-inch line. Hasbro went above and beyond to produce this action figure, and Omega (Kamino) comes with a couple of substantial accessories. And we’d be remiss not to emphasize how much plastic you get here. Hasbro graciously included the energy bow from The Bad Batch series. It isn’t articulated but designed beautifully. Hasbro incorporated translucent purple “energy” to help recreate the effect of the weapon in the show. It doesn’t work well, but you get the gist. It’s a pain in the butt to pose Omega (Kamino) with the energy bow, but your perseverance will pay off with a bit of patience. Also included with the figure is a gas mask. It fits snugly on the figure’s nose to recreate the various scenes the character uses on Kamino. Lastly, Hasbro included Ruby, Omega’s pet lizard. We don’t think it’s a faithful recreation of the on-screen creature because the realistic interpretation of Ruby looks more cartoonish than the one we see in The Bad Batch.

Hasbro went to town on the articulation system for a figure with such small stature. They held nothing back to ensure Omega (Kamino) came with a premium articulation system, primarily to maintain athletic poses when it comes to the accessories included. You get a lot of movement in the upper and lower body, and the figure’s head offers a full range of motion. Hasbro maintained much of the character’s animated looks with the head sculpt. Honestly, the figure looks like it would fit in a Strawberry Shortcake or Disney Princess line. Although boring in design, the outfit is vibrant, thanks to the block color pattern throughout it. The big picture here is that although Omega (Kamino) is a more petite action figure, Hasbro did all they could to give the action figure more value for the money. But, we don’t believe Hasbro has much confidence in Omega (Kamino) because the figure is only one per case, and when Hasbro does this, they fear that figure is high risk. Omega means the “end,” and we’re not sure of the significance that definition has on this figure. As an action figure, this is perhaps the end-all and an example of what Hasbro needs to include with all of the figures in The Black Series [Phase IV] 6-inch figures line. They have to continue giving more value to their figures.
