Princess Leia Organa was one of the greatest leaders of the Rebel Alliance, fearless on the battlefield and dedicated to ending the Empire's tyranny.

It’s inevitable that when Hasbro releases an exclusive, we can expect to see it as part of the basic figure line at some point afterward. This same situation happened with the Princess Leia Organa (Yavin 4) figure, which Hasbro released first as part of the Lucasfilm 50th line (in awful 1997-ish The Power Of The Force “2” packaging). Now the figure is part of the mainline in the elegant The Black Series [Phase IV] line look with bright color-coded details. The Star Wars source is identified with orange enhancements for A New Hope. You probably know how we feel about this action figure. We’re not exaggerating when we claim it’s one of 2021’s most excellent Star Wars action figures. With an accurate and beautiful likeness to Princess Leia Organa as she appeared in the final scenes of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the latest iteration of this character is an impressive accomplishment, and collectors will adore what Hasbro did with this figure. It’s lovely to see the figure released once again.

Princess Leia Organa (Yavin 4) comes with a gorgeous soft-goods gown, a removable silver belt, and a stunning portrait. But let’s take a closer look at what the action figure offers collectors because there is a lot here to appreciate. Based on 2016’s The Black Series [Phase III] Princess Leia Organa (30) figure, Hasbro implemented a lot of newness into the tooling of Princess Leia Organa (Yavin 4), and the reused parts are barely noticeable this time around. The figure comes with a new, striking portrait, forearms, an all-new torso, new lower legs, and a new soft-goods gown that Hasbro perfectly cut out of a light fabric with a lovely drape. Hasbro tooled an all-new and removable silver belt that hugs the figure’s delicate waist closely, and it’s accessible to remove and refasten it to the figure for alternate looks. Hasbro tooled a new right forearm to implement a silver bracelet on the figure’s arm. Also, the torso is entirely new, and they also tooled a permanent silver necklace which is screen-accurate to the on-screen character.

The new parts completely disguise the figure’s original reused tooling. It’s almost impossible to see this figure as a retool, even though Hasbro reused many elements here. Old and new parts blend to produce a long-awaited character for The Black Series 6-inch line. And if you missed the special release to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Lucasfilm Ltd, now you can secure this figure in the standard 6-inch packaging. It’s hard to process that for The Black Series [Phase IV] lineup, Princess Leia Organa (Yavin 4) is the first figure added to the A New Hope entertainment logo. We’re surprised Hasbro chose orange to identify figures from A New Hope. We’ve consistently recognized orange as a symbol for Revenge Of The Sith, much like how we determine red as a symbol for The Phantom Menace. And we believe we have these preconceived notions in our heads thanks to the color-coding of The Saga Collection. It would have been nice if Hasbro followed what was established in this line to carry forward into The Black Series 6-inch line.
