A hot-headed ex-Imperial sharpshooter, Migs Mayfeld was once the smart-mouthed leader of a gang of criminals. Mayfeld’s skills and old ties help The Mandalorian on his mission to rescue Grogu from Moff Gideon.

Hasbro is now focusing on some of the “B” characters in The Mandalorian Disney+ series. Migs Mayfeld (Morak) is the next in the line and the 15th character produced based on The Mandalorian show. Hasbro contains costs wherever possible these days, and not even the new characters introduced into the line can avoid reused parts. But to their credit, Hasbro seems to be doing all they can to make the existing tooling feel fresh and new again, and that also means they might take a few missteps while doing so. Migs Mayfeld (Morak) is 95% of 2019’s TBS [P3] Han Solo (Mimban) (78) figure. Hasbro tooled an all-new and excellent interpretation of actor Bill Burr, but they didn’t have to do much since the actor has a bald head. Using Photo Real technology to breathe life into the action figure, Migs Mayfeld (Morak) captures the likeness and spirit of the character well, and it’s a lovely addition to The Black Series [Phase IV] lineup. They also tooled a new helmet to fit over the figure’s head, and it’s based on the head sculpt of 2016’s TBS [P3] Imperial Hovertank Pilot Toys R Us exclusive 6-inch figure.

That said, the antiquated articulation they worked into this new figure feels like a wrong turn, but reusing parts is something collectors of the line will have to accept as Hasbro continues making our toys. Despite how hard Hasbro tried, it’s important to note that the Migs Mayfeld (Morak) action figure is not entirely screen-accurate either. The figure has a red armband, and Mayfeld does not have this detail on the costume in the episode. Hasbro should have painted that section the same color as the rest of the army-green armor. Instead, The Mandalorian wears the outfit with the red armband in that episode. So, it’s entirely possible that The Black Series 6-inch line might get The Mandalorian on Morak figure as well, especially since The Vintage Collection has it. Despite the figure’s shortcomings, Migs Mayfeld (Morak) looks nice and is a fantastic addition to the line. In addition to the removable helmet, Migs Mayfeld (Morak) comes with a blaster that fits into the newly tooled holster part of the new belt/skirt portion of the uniform. Overall, you’ll likely appreciate this figure in your collection and overlook its imperfections.

Migs Mayfeld (Morak) has solid plastic, and the correct detail looks terrific. The figure’s facial paint operations are relatively excellent and beautifully capture the actor’s features. Hasbro should be happy with this effort despite the “archaic” articulation system (especially in the legs) and the deco issues. This style of Galactic Empire member still reminds us of the AT-AT Commander from The Empire Strikes Back. Migs Mayfeld (Morak) comes with 27 points of articulation across 16 points. The double hinge-jointed knees are a royal pain in the butt, and we didn’t realize this until revisiting this tooling, but the ball-jointed/” rocker” ankles must have been in their infancy when Hasbro designed them. They get stuck easily, and there isn’t enough surface area on the soles of the feet that balance out its “center of gravity” well. You have to precariously pose this figure to prevent it from falling to the ground. But if you have experience with The Black Series 6-inch line, you’re probably an expert on quickly remedying this issue. There isn’t much else to say about Migs Mayfeld (Morak) other than if you’re a fan of the show, you’re probably going to like this figure.
