Uh-oh. Hasbro didn’t cancel one of their Cara Dune figures in time, nor did they recall any case assortments leaked out to the market. Will they have to pay for this oversight? Whatever happens, collectors now have another opportunity to add this awesome Star Wars character into their collections. Cara Dune got canceled, and collectors can no longer order The Black Series [Phase III] 6” and The Vintage Collection versions of the action figure. And rumors abound that the final case assortments on pre-order are at risk for not getting fulfilled. However, one version you can still grab of the beautiful Gina Carano is the Retro Collection version. It might not be the best action figure interpretation of the on-screen character, but at least we get to see her beautiful face again on the Retro Collection packaging. The figure is an excellent and simplified version of the super-articulated The Vintage Collection Cara Dune (VC164) figure. Hasbro faithfully copied most of the colors over from the super-articulated version to the 5POA version. The figure comes with two weapons, and they don’t look as essential as they probably need to look to be a Kenner-esque figure. The likeness is about average, but not many 5POA figures look anything like their on-screen counterparts. If you see this figure, you should probably grab it if you like this line. Because everyone will be after it and hoarding it thinking it will be worth something one day. Cara Dune is an excellent addition to the line. We’re stoked Hasbro didn’t have enough time to act like it never existed.
