Boba Fett

General analysis!

The most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy, BOBA FETT tracks HAN SOLO and returns him to JABBA THE HUTT for bounty.

It's often referred to as the holy grail of Star Wars collecting, and if you look at the prices today on the aftermarket, you'll find that this Kenner action figure from 1985 is not attainable for most collectors' budgets. Most Kenner Boba Fett action figures are unattainable these days, and they'll only increase in value as time moves ahead of us. It's a shame that the DROIDS line didn't pick up momentum because the second wave included many more interesting characters than the first wave offered. It's interesting that out of a dozen figures released in the line, the ones most sought after by collectors are the characters that we've already purchased, either with the same or different paint schemes. Beautifully packaged and beautifully colored, even if it isn't screen-accurate, Boba Fett is one of a few highlights in the 1985 DROIDS Kenner line. With more value loose than the figure itself is the included gold-colored coin. It's a replica of THE POWER OF THE FORCE mail-away coin, but this time is gold instead of silver. Both front and back strikings are identical. Other licensees, like GENTLE GIANT LTD., took advantage of the DROIDS line collectibility and produced items based on the television series's characters. There appears to be a lot more life in the DROIDS cartoon, but most collectors still wait for more licensees to get out more collectibles that seemingly hang in the balance.
