The Armorer plays a vital role in keeping the culture of the Mandalorians alive. She forges beskar armor in the ancient tradition of her people. We see her forge with exacting precision; when combat is required, she proves to be efficient and resourceful.

Hasbro decided to release The Armorer in the exclusive format before releasing it as a general marketplace figure second. To make it unique, they added a fur hood made from real soft-goods material and added multiple accessories that you can’t get anywhere else. The set has an MSRP of $29.99 for the exclusive features and deluxe packaging and was exclusive to Hasbro Pulse during their Pulse-Con event. As a featured character in The Mandalorian Disney+ series, the show brings Star Wars back to the Original Trilogy timeline. It makes Star Wars familiar and homey again, not distant and foreign. Seeing old characters and vehicles is oddly refreshing. And after only a couple of episodes, fans latched onto The Mandalorian with deep affection. What’s more, fans warmly welcomed the new characters introduced in The Mandalorian into their hearts, one by one. The Armorer is a character that plays a crucial role in the series. She develops the armor, not unlike a blacksmith, for The Mandalorian and seemingly works under Imperial control. We soon find out she has some incredible secrets hidden away, and then out of the blue, she takes on multiple Imperial Stormtrooper at once with great success when provoked. We know she is devoted to Mandalorian culture. And we know she has an exciting relationship with the main character of the series. We’re curious to see where her story proceeds in the future of the series.

As we briefly mentioned, The Armorer entered The Black Series [Phase IV] line with deluxe packaging and extra accessories including a torch with effect, a welding effect, and The Mandalorian beskar-armored helmet as an exclusive. The figure comes with a soft-goods faux fur hood/cape. With the standard articulation of most Hasbro toy line figures, The Armorer isn’t much different. Specifically, The Armorer comes with the enhanced articulation system from recent figures, including “butterfly” shoulder joints. The Armorer comes with a finely designed costume. There are many ridges, creases, wrinkles, and textures in The Armorer’s blue-collar attire. And the figure seems well protected against the hot embers the character uses to develop the Mandalorian culture’s various armor and weaponry. As we see in The Mandalorian series, The Armorer is also a warrior. And the character speaks softly but carries a big stick against the Galactic Empire, and we imagine any other foes that try to prevent her from doing her work. Hasbro captured all of the necessary details of the character perfectly into this action figure. From the main outfit’s drab coloring to the glowing gold helmet that obscures the face, The Armorer is another excellent addition to The Black Series [Phase IV} line. As much as we adore this figure, we don’t think the extras here warrant a $29.99 MSRP. Including this amount of additions should be the standard value of a 6” Star Wars figure.

The figure comes with a torch, a torch with effects, a removable welding effect, long and short graspers, and a cooling beskar helmet. They all interact with the figure beautifully. Hasbro knows how to design action figures well, and this release is no exception. However, we believe we prefer the molded cape to the soft-goods version on the exclusive release a bit more. Admittedly, the plastic mold looks much more authentic than a random fabric that bunches up on the figure. So, between both versions, you can compile a perfectly accessorized with the appropriate aesthetics you desire. The joints on The Armorer are tight, and the figure maintains poses well. With 30 points of premium articulation, The Armorer achieves any position you require in your displays. Although we know a little bit about The Armorer, the character remains mysterious in the series. We hope it stays that way. Hasbro captured the character’s mystery beautifully with this action figure, and we’re especially taken with the helmet. In simpler terms, the figure looks like a kitty cat. Because of this, The Armorer reminds us of a Star Wars version of Catwoman. Also part of the second wave of 6” figures that make up the fourth phase of The Black Series line with fewer accessories, of course, The Armorer rounds out of a mix of characters from the films and other sources to engage as many different types of Star Wars collectors possible. But we anticipate Hasbro will focus on The Mandalorian for the foreseeable future.
