This distinctive collection features premium deco applications inspired by the end credit images from The Mandalorian, plus a collectible Imperial Credit accessory. After the fall of the Galactic Empire, usage of their form of money, Imperial Credits, became less common with many planets refusing payments in the currency on principle.

Hasbro’s quickly learning how easy it is to take advantage of collectors with the many repainted figures they continuously release. First, we received a sampling of “carbonized” figures. That’s trickled down into a new sub-line called the “Credit Collection” that gives some of their existing sculpts colorful new paint operations and pairs them with an Imperial Credit accessory. Why they’re doing this is beyond our comprehension. Whatever their reasons, we do have to make our concerns be known that they’re cheapening the Kenner-styled packaging by using it for other things like this. There is nothing wrong with new characters appearing in classic-styled vintage Kenner packaging, but this is bordering on “abuse” of that packaging style now. The card back is foiled and glistens in the light. And for IG-11, the included Imperial Credit features the letters ROWE in Aurebesh on it. We’re not sure what that means, but if you know, be sure to let us know in the comments. This now-tired IG Assassin Droid tooling is disappointing to see again. We need an all-new sculpt of the IG Assassin Droid that shows a taller and more foreboding bounty hunter. We think the 6” line needs to hold off on producing any more commemorative or celebratory sub-lines. They’re starting to feel “forced” now. Let’s take a closer look at this GameStop exclusive figure.

The Mandalorian streaming series looks like one of the most promising storylines since Disney took over the franchise. Star Wars collectors love the new characters in The Mandalorian. And it appears that longtime Star Wars fans are embracing it the entire multimedia event. Strong ties to the Original Trilogy are going to save Star Wars from the current state it’s in at the moment. And characters like The Mandalorian and IG-11 are the next best things if we can’t have the Original Trilogy characters we enjoyed in our youth. Although now a fancy repaint of 2019’s TBS [P3] IG-11 Best Buy exclusive, the “Credit Collection” IG-11 is quite colorful by comparison, and it’s looking good. IG-11 is an interesting figure when you analyze its color. It contains most of the rainbow color on it, and we’re not sure why Hasbro took this approach with it. The new paint operations are beautifully applied, and the artistic enhancements make IG-11 look so different from its base figure. IG-11 comes with the cross-strapped bandolier and the two standard weapons all IG Assassin Droids seem to utilize. The weapons still have the holes drilled into them so that they stay on the plugs Hasbro installed on IG-11’s “hands” to keep them in place. IG-11 is also able to hold the Imperial Credit accessory as well. You don’t get much more here, and the figure costs $24.99. It feels too high.

As mentioned earlier, IG-11 comes with a decent amount of articulation. With an impressive 25 points, IG-11 comes with enough articulation to satisfy the biggest articulation snobs. Although IG-11 is loaded with articulation, it’s the quality of articulation that will limit what this figure achieves in terms of posing, and we’re disappointed by its inhibitions. We quickly discovered that the most significant omission to IG-11 is the lack of ball-socket (or ball-jointed) hips. The droid’s legs are SO CLOSE together that it makes posing the figure in any action poses extremely difficult. But it is possible. As long as you achieve the right center of gravity, you can get the action figure to stay in some pretty cool action poses with a little patience. Overall, IG-11 doesn’t bring that much new to the table, other than its unique colors. If you have the previously released IG-88, you have this one, plus or minus a couple of things. The new paint operations keep the figure from looking like a carbon copy of the original IG-11. We are happy to see an IG Assassin Droid in action in the new Star Wars Entertainment. The last time we saw them wage war was in Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars micro-series. And that was a long time ago. In the meantime, we hope that Hasbro keeps introducing new characters from The Mandalorian into this line because they’re looking fabulous. We still don’t understand this sub-line, however.
