Ahsoka Tano, a Togruta female, was the Padawan learner to Anakin Skywalker and a hero in the Clone Wars. Alongside Anakin, she grew from headstrong student into mature leader. But her destiy laid along a different path than the Jedi.

Hasbro released seven figures from Star Wars Rebels to launch The Black Series [Phase IV] line look. With one new figure and six repaints, Hasbro made the figures look the best they had since their original release. With the addition of Photo Real, where possible, and updated colors and paint configurations, the Star Wars Rebels wave of figures was a welcomed addition to the 6” line because so many were commanding high prices on the aftermarket. Ahsoka Tano, the sole outlier of the Star Wars Rebels collection, also received updates, including Photo Real. There are also other variances in the paint operations. The Photo Real updates made to Ahsoka Tano are gorgeous, and the figure looks better than ever. With overtly feminine characteristics, the figure is a testament to Hasbro’s beauty in this scale. It’s terrific seeing this Togruta again. With a long history in The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano completes different missions during Star Wars Rebels and wears a different outfit with other lightsabers. Hasbro captured all of the details wonderfully, and we believe we have the consummate version of the character in the 6” line now.

How does The Black Series [Phase IV] Ahsoka Tano 6” figure fare compared to the original release? Well, it’s remarkably better. Ahsoka Tano has always had full and rounded beautiful eyes. And thanks to Photo Real, we get a realistic approach that is believable and lifelike. The previous version had some deco issues. We believe most of the problems are now remedied with this release. Once again, Hasbro proves how far the updated paint operations take the figure and prove that their technology is continually evolving. The paint operations at the factory level are going so much further now. The rest of the figure is nearly breathtaking. The sculpt is perfection. You can see how much Ahsoka has “grown up” by the head tails’ increased length. The montrals have increased size and girth as well. The creamy white color of them is neatly and evenly applied and darker this time around, and then the blue zebra-like accents are clean, for the most part, with just a few signs of imperfections and bleeding. The white facial geometric pigments on the figure’s face are also expertly applied, and pretty much everything else is in place here. You’re going to be very happy.

Hasbro designed Ahsoka Tano’s outfit beautifully too. But we were all well aware of this already thanks to the early prototypes Hasbro showed us of this figure so long ago. You’ll be happy to know that they’ve been very faithful to the stunning prototype, and the production figure has been translated as beautifully as the prototype. The articulation is spot on as well. If you own one The Black Series 6” figure, then you pretty much know how the articulation system works in this scale. The same is pretty much valid for Ahsoka Tano, plus or minus a few points. This figure can be posed in a variety of ways, with little interruption from the skirt. The joints move freely, and she can hold her poses without issue. Included with Ahsoka Tano is a white-bladed lightsaber as well as a white-bladed shoto. These have been standard weapons for the character for a while now, and they befit the action figure perfectly. Again, we have VERY LITTLE to complain about here. This figure is going to be a hot action figure for years to come. And as much as we love this figure, we’d still love to see Hasbro attack a version of the character from The Clone Wars. Available through the Fan Channel, expect this to be a hot commodity once again.
