With its immense space fleet, the Imperial Navy is quite an example of military excellence and efficiency. Only the best pilots of this fleet are trained to fly the fast, maneuverable Twin Ion Engine (TIE) fighters.

TIE fighters are short-range patrol and attack spacecrafts used to defend against and attack Rebel forces. Because the TIE fighter is powerful, cheap to make and quick to produce, there seems to be an innumerable amount. Twin ion engines provide the mobilization for these fighters, which are controlled by a single pilot.

TIE pilots wear plastisteel protective armor over an insulated high-gravity body glove. Their helmets feature polarized lenses and breathing filters which are connected to the chestplate control unit which houses and emergency atmospheric unit. Taught to be the best, the pilots are often hot-headed and overconfident, a trait that has more than once led to a pilot's demise. These TIE fighter pilots are seen through the eyes of the Empire as disposable and replaceable. The starfighters are not equipped with ejection systems or much of a life support system. TIE fighter pilots have been trained to willingly offer their own lives in support of the Emperor's plight.

Authentically styled straight from the Star Wars trilogy, the TIE fighter pilot comes with his signature blaster, chest respirator and wrist comlink. This special edition 12" figure, available for the first time ever, is destined to become a classic collectible.

Collector Series collectors eagerly anticipated the latest waves of 12” figures from Kenner/Hasbro. Always pushing outside the boundaries of a comfort level, Kenner/Hasbro produced action figures in 12” scale that were never attempted previously in the Kenner Large Size Action Figures line. Take, for instance, the TIE Fighter Pilot. The black-outfitted member of the Galactic Empire has always been a fan-favorite character. Kenner/Hasbro produced a modern version of this character in the 3.75” The Power Of The Force “2” [Red] line, and it turned out great. Now they’ve produced a quality figure in the large 12” scale. The figure is based on a previous GI Joe buck with an all-new helmeted portrait, chest armor with new gloved and boots. The figure also comes with an E-11 blaster that came with the Stormtrooper figure. With a thinner frame, the figure is faithful to the onscreen character. And we appreciate Kenner/Hasbro’s attention to detail here. It turned out better than expected.
