A vengeful warrior of the Empire tasked with tracking down Jedi survivors, the Second Sister Inquisitor is driven by her all-encompassing hatred of the Order.

If you believed that one version of the Second Sister Inquisitor was enough for The Black Series [Phase III] line, guess again. Hasbro made her part of a smaller “Carbonized” collection, and each character selected for this upgrade got promoted to retailer exclusive. For the Second Sister Inquisitor, she’s exclusive to GameStop. Completed with a paint job that looks as if it’s a metallic finish, Second Sister Inquisitor (Carbonized) possesses a shiny coat and perhaps looks better than her general marketplace release. We didn’t think we were going to be fond of the “Carbonized” figures, but many are turning out to have better paint jobs than the regularly released figures. Interestingly, Hasbro didn’t give the accessories any updated paint operations. Whether forgotten or intentionally neglected, we think it would have gone over quite well with collectors if they made the weapons and accessories unique as well. As previously mentioned, Second Sister Inquisitor (Carbonized) is a GameStop exclusive, and that means collectors will pay a premium for her. In this case, it means a $6 price hike. That’s a lot of money for an enhanced paint job, but collectors, generally speaking, don’t seem to irritated by it. Let’s take a closer look at the figure.

Just like the regular release, we have a heck of a time “unfreezing” her ankle joints. Hasbro needs to find a way to make the ankle joints on thin limbs more fluid. We thought for certain we were going to break off her ankles, attempting to articulate them. The joints should not be this tight on such a delicate part of the body as the ankles. Aside from that issue, Second Sister Inquisitor (Carbonized) doesn’t appear to have any other issues. Second Sister Inquisitor (Carbonized) turned out nicely from a visual point of view. She turned out splendidly. Although she’s wearing a very masculine-styled outfit, her feminine athletic frame fits into it flawlessly and displaces any thoughts of it being a “man’s” outfit. She comes with a removable cape. And the cape plugs into slots found in her shoulder blades. We find this approach aesthetically displeasing. Thankfully, Hasbro included two shoulder armor plates that plug into her shoulders if the cape is removed. But if you have man-hands, good luck trying to install them and getting them to stay in place with ease. Ours fell out consistently, and we found this troublesome and aggravating.

As far as weapon accessories are concerned, Second Sister Inquisitor (Carbonized) comes with a ring hilt and two lightsaber blades. We know that she’s an expert lightsaber duelist, so it’s great that her signature weapon was included here. Unfortunately, the blades don’t snap in tightly and sag a bit when displayed. It’s not a huge disappointment, but they should have a tighter fit. The only thing we’d like to know at this point is what she looks like underneath the helmet. Perhaps time will reveal that. In Star Wars: Rebels, the Seventh Sister Inquisitor character went over very well with fans of the show. Because of her popularity, Hasbro produced a 3.75” action figure of her for the Star Wars toy line. Now a new Second Sister Inquisitor is a subject of focus for the Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order video game and also a brand new The Black Series [Phase III] 6” figure. Hopefully, more related characters will come from Hasbro. With more-than-usual box and figure variations for one character in The Black Series [Phase III] 6” line, we hope Hasbro isn’t oversaturating the market too much with the same products. Interestingly, the GameStop exclusive “carbonized” version is significantly easier to locate than the variant “white” box version. So, you’ll likely find this one before the other.
