A great master of the Force and a general in the Old Republic, Obi-Wan Kenobi became one of the last surviving Jedi Knights after Emperor Palpatine assumed control of the galaxy with his merciless New Order.

As the Emperor's power grew, Obi-Wan Kenobi changed his name to Ben Kenobi and went into hiding on the planet of Tatooine, where he could protect the best possible hope for the future of the Republic: a young child named Luke Skywalker, had been Kenobi's star pupil in the ways of the Force, but became corrupted by the dark side.

Kenovi eventually trained young Luke in the ways of the Force, and together they embarked on a spectacular adventure. Darth Vader would later destroy his former teacher in a lightsaber duel, but Kenobi's life force lived on, continuing to guide Luke in the ways of the Force.

Authentically styled straight from the movie, Obi-Wan Kenobi is armed with his signature lightsaber and comes outfitted in his hooded robe, shirt pants, inner robe and boots. This special edition 12" figure, available for the first time ever, is destined to become a classic collectible.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

There’s no other way to say it other than “any collectible toy version of Obi-Wan Kenobi generally turns out very well.” While the opinions are a mixed bag with Kenner/Hasbro’s Collector Series 12 Inch Figures line, Obi-Wan Kenobi brightly shines when compared to his casemates. We’re not sure if we can explain why action figures of varying scales based on Obi-Wan Kenobi turn out so well, but the Collector Series 12 Inch Figure version exceeded our expectations. Yes, Obi-Wan Kenobi is created from a GI Joe buck, but Kenner/Hasbro added detail that beautifully recreated a collectible version of the character we adore from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Similar in approach to the original vintage Kenner Large Size Action Figure, Obi-Wan Kenobi comes with a luxurious outer robe that’s perfectly fitted to his frame with a hood that falls where it should. The figure also comes with inner robes, a shirt, a pair of pants, boots, and a belt to tie the outfit together. For accessories, Obi-Wan Kenobi only comes with a lit blue lightsaber. Kenner/Hasbro designed it well, but they neglected to paint the hilt with any contrasting detail, and it looks off, and we strongly feel it was a missed opportunity. Obi-Wan Kenobi lacks a decent amount of articulation, but many collectors will feel he has enough to attain basic poses for your display shelf. For $19.99, this is a very well-made 12 Inch Figure. Without a doubt, Obi-Wan Kenobi is the highlight of the first wave of Collector Series 12 Inch Figures. We look forward to what Kenner/Hasbro decides to add to the line next. It’s nice getting modern updates to character Kenner made long ago, but we look forward to the characters never before offered a little more.
