Chewbacca is a legendary Wookiee warrior and the loyal copilot of the Millennium Falcon, one of the fastest ships in the galaxy.

Hey everyone! More completely unnecessary repacks. And more unnecessary repacks of 5POA stuff still currently available at retail on clearance make up a good portion of the Galaxy Of Adventures line. You have to wonder why the line is failing at retail. You see something like this new line and you think that this is the time where Hasbro is going to step things up. Instead, the revert back once again releasing more junk to retail that will either peg-warm, not make it to retail and end up at clearance outlets months later for pennies on the dollar. Yes, that’s a very bleak outlook of the Str Wars line, but how many times to does everyone need to wash, rinse and repeat the same happenings of Hasbro Star Wars at retail year after year? It would have been a great time to incorporate super-articulated versions of the core Original Trilogy Star Wars characters (which Galaxy Of Adventures focuses on) to give us long-awaited updates while supporting the latest multimedia event like this. But no, Hasbro digs into their 5POA/7POA archives to rehash figures that are STILL SITTING ON PEGS for fractions less than their MSRP. And because of the cylindrical packaging and included miniature comic, these simple action figures will set you back $9.99 each. Don’t you love the way the Star WARS action figure line is going?

If there is one figure that disappointed collectors in the Star Wars [Solo] line, it was Chewbacca. So you know Murphy’s Law is at work here because he is released once again as an A New Hope Chewbacca for the Galaxy Of Adventures line (which we’re predicting is dead on arrival). Something went very wrong with the Chewbacca Force Link 2.0 action figure. So the same issues are available for collectors to enjoy once again. It’s not that it doesn’t resemble Chewbacca, it does very much so. But between the seemingly incorrect color of his fur to the partly inaccurate sculpt, Chewbacca misses the mark in a few ways. It’s difficult to pinpoint what went wrong with Chewbacca. It feels like Hasbro mastered the figure’s key features. Chewbacca is tall. Chewbacca is bulky. Chewbacca comes with a removable bandolier. Chewbacca comes with a cool new weapon. But ultimately the figure falls short and we most certainly don’t need to see him again at retail. Whatever you opinion is about this line, we don’t think that this version of him resembles the classic Original Trilogy character. We believe that an action figure of a character like Chewbacca needs more articulation. And it would have been wonderful to get a super-articulated and revised younger version of him. This was the PERFECT opportunity to do one.

Does Chewbacca have any redeeming qualities? We aren’t sure about that, especially after an unnecessary reissue. We do wish that Hasbro would have revisited this action figure from the ground up in a super-articulated action figure. Again, it was the perfect time to go this route instead. This version of Chewbacca doesn’t meet our expectations. Lastly, we want to point out that Chewbacca has been cast in a very brittle plastic. The fingers on his right hand broke off when we attempted to place the gun inside of them. This happened on the Force Link 2.0 version as well. You’ve been warned a second time. The included miniature comic is fairly nice. It’s difficult to read the text in the, but the animation looks very nice and the story fits is with what we saw in the Original Trilogy films. Included in the comic are events that take place within A New Hope. It’s a typical comic, but at least the focus is on the Original Trilogy. There’s even an opening scroll on the first page of the comic to give it that true Star Wars vibe. For $9.99, these figures are overpriced. But who knows how much longer the market will even bother with the Star Wars brand. It’s sadly become a toxic brand. There is no way this line is going to be a success at retail. Hasbro is asking us to pay $2 for figures because of a paper comic inside and unique packaging. That doesn’t fly.
