Jedi Master And Force Spirit Yoda - Star Wars Toybox (10)

The Disney Store is proud to introduce the Star Wars Toybox range of action figures, bringing adventures to life with characters from across The Walt Disney Company.

Finally! Yoda is part of the popular Star Wars Toybox line now. And instead of getting one figure, collectors are treated to two versions of him in this unprecedented set. Interestingly, the two included Yoda figures are based on two different eras in the Star Wars timeline. The main figure, the colorful Jedi Master one with the lightsaber is based on his appearance from Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. And the second, the Force Spirit Yoda, is based on his appearance from Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi. The inclusion of two separate figures here is fascinating, but we believe it’s Disney’s way of giving the collector more value for his or her money. It’s not too unlike Hasbro packing two Jawas or two Ewoks together. Interestingly, Hasbro never packed two Yoda action figures together. Let’s take a closer look at the contents in this package.

Jedi Master Yoda comes with an stunning 15 points of articulation. These points include a ball-jointed head, shoulders, wrists, hips and ankles and a swivel waist. Despite all of these premium articulation points, Jedi Master Yoda doesn’t offer a whole lot of movement. Disney gave him a molded cape, and it does encumber his full range of movement. But with a little patience and perseverance, you can pose the figure in a variety of ways regardless. Yoda looks great displayed alongside the rest of the figures in the Star Wars Toybox line. He comes with a lit green lightsaber so you can recreate some of his battles from The Clone Wars or Attack Of The Clones. Hopefully, Disney will add some of the Separatists from the Prequel Trilogy into this line too to help give the produced figures foes and villains to battle. Lack of characters is an obvious but real problem in anew action figure line.

Also included is the odd Force Spirit Yoda. As you know, this version of Yoda is based on his appearance in Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi. Then again, it could also be based on his appearance from Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi too. This figure comes without any articulation at all. Not even his head moves. But they did sculpt a cane in his hands to give the appearance that he comes with an accessory. But it isn’t removable. The Force Spirit Yoda is in scale with the “regular” Jedi Master Yoda figure, and interestingly, they look pretty cool together side by side. The Jedi Master And Force Spirit Yoda two-pack sets a new precedent for the Star Wars Toybox line. We bet that if they decide to produce Jawas or Ewoks or Ugnaughts that they’d include two of them to give the $12.99 more value for the consumer. But we hope they make these figures at a faster pace.
