Ugnaught

General Analysis

The year was 1981, and it’s as clear to me today as it was decades ago. This seven-year-old boy loved it when his mother needed household items so that he and his brother could travel with her to Freehold, NJ to Jamesway and run to the Star Wars aisle and see the latest happenings in the Star Wars universe. But Jamesway wasn’t the highlight of the trip. No. In the Jamesway strip mall was a better store called Funtown. (It has a bear riding a train for a logo, and it was the “go to” place for toys in my area back in the day. Aisles upon aisles and shelves upon shelves on Kenner Star Wars products loaded the footprint allotted for the Star Wars line. I remember seeing Large Size Action Figures and a ton of Mini Action Figures and vehicles. It was like walking into heaven from my perspective. And it is some of the finest memories I have with my mom. As a youngster, I recall seeing the Ugnaught everywhere. I didn’t know the term “peg warmer” back then, but that’s what this figure was. It didn’t matter that much to me. I loved all of the figures, and I found his short stature and piggy face very endearing. (I love my pigs as you probably all know well by now.) Years later I learned of the figures multiple-colored aprons, but I don’t think I ever acquired both of them for my collection. I love the Ugnaught. I am very Hasbro provided us with a nice amount of Ugnaught action figures from Hasbro in the modern line throughout the years. But I hope Hasbro combines parts from existing sculpts so that we can finally have our definitive modern counterpart!

Hasbro's Most Definitive Modern Counterpart: 2009's LEGACY COLLECTION Ugnaught (BD28) figure (along with the apron from 2009's THE LEGACY COLLECTION Ugnaught (BD 43) figure).
