Leia Organa (Bespin Gown) is another figure that I owned although I don’t remember how it got into my collection as a kid. I do, however, remember that I didn’t have her vinyl cape or blaster, so she was quite incomplete. I remember the chips on her fingers and the oddly colored flesh area in her neck. It wasn’t until years later when I discovered Kenner produced two unique sculpts of her. The newer version is a much prettier and better-looking figure than the first version, but it’s also technically screen-inaccurate because her dress didn’t go that far up her neck. There are differences in hair color and facial paint operations. And don’t forget about her running card back photo change. It’s one of the few figures where I genuinely feel that Hasbro got it right the first time and unsure why they felt a revision was necessary or required (both figure and packaging). Leia Organa (Bespin Gown) also sustained a name change. Kenner added “Princess” before the name on later releases for uniformity purposes. It’s still a wonderful figure today.
