Ten years after the fight to save Naboo from invasion, the galaxy is on the brink of civil war. Under the leadership of a renegade Jedi, thousands of solar systems threaten to secede from the Galactic Republic. A courageous Jedi Knight, his impulsive and headstrong apprentice, and a queen-turned-senator are drawn into the heart of the conflict... and the beginning of war.

Resourceful and dangerous, Jango Fett is known throughout the criminal underworld as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. Deftly proficient in capturing or eliminating his prey, Fett is the embodiment of pure physical adroitness and shrewd agility. A sleek armored suit hides Jango Fett's rugged face and strangely tattooed forearms. Fully equipped to defend himself from any adversary, Fett is armed with retractable wrist blades, dual pistols, a snare, and other concealed weaponry. His harnessed backpack, capable of jet propulsion, provides stealthy leverage over steadfast opponents. Hired for a considerable fee, Fett is currently employed as part of an escalating stratagem to divide the Republic.

Hasbro produced what many hail as one of their finest achievements ever in the 12 Inch Figures line with the release of 2002’s Star Wars “Saga” Jango Fett. Talk about a marvel of a toy. How often in Hasbro’s past had they made a 12 Inch Figure with a stunning head sculpt, an inordinate amount of useful articulation, and more accessories than you can handle at once? That’s exactly how one can perfectly describe the Jango Fett 12 Inch Figure. It’s more of a “deluxe” figure than anything else. It falls outside the standard $19.99 price point quite a bit. It’s double the price of the basic assortment. But Jango Fett is worth every penny you put towards it. The feature of Jango Fett that will immediately captivate you is the head sculpt. We honestly don’t believe Hasbro could have made a more accurate and realistic representation of actor Temuera Morrison. We would have never expected this quality from Hasbro. Only a high-end 12” figure maker would be so precise. What’s more, Jango Fett comes with so many parts to his uniform and while not all of them fit perfectly on his costume, you have to credit the effort Hasbro put forth to make a truly fun, interactive and collector worthy 12 Inch Figure. Jango Fett will meet everyone’s expectations. We’re completely sure about that. So let’s looks at why Hasbro has set a bar so high that they will struggle to meet it again with another figure.

If you were to strip Jango Fett down to his jumpsuit, would you believe that Hasbro has included over 20 accessories to accompany him? That’s an outstanding amount of parts and every last one is just as important as the next to complete the unique look of this bounty hunter. Not all of the parts are screen accurate, and by the very design of this figure they can’t be. Take, for instance, the chest armor. In the film, they are separate pieces that are affixed in place on the jumpsuit. Hasbro decided to make one big piece of armor, so you’ll see portions of a “plastic jumpsuit” underneath the armored pieces. But it doesn’t look bad, and it makes for a seamless appearance. Another example would be his belt. It includes a small portion of his codpiece. In the film, this wasn’t part of the belt. You get the idea. By default, there have to be some screen inaccuracies, but Hasbro produced a figure with grace. The bottom line here is that Jango Fett is a fantastic figure from Hasbro. The removable helmet is a bit too wide and sits in a precarious clunky fashion on Jango Fett’s head, but a chary attempt will ensure you can situate it in a way where it will stay in place. Jango Fett does however come with six separately sculpted armor pieces that attach to his jumpsuit via Velcro. There is one issue, however. The shin guards are not wide enough to fit over the boots underneath of his jumpsuit, so they sit there in an ill-fitted fashion. Thankfully, it’s not a terrible distraction.

What impresses us the most here is that Hasbro included both backpacks of Jango Fett from Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. Both his Kamino specific jetpack and his Geonosis specific jetpack are here. The Mitronomon Z-6 jetpack is the same style Boba Fett used in the Original Trilogy. But this time, it’s been cast in colors that befit Jango Fett. Mostly blue with colorful highlights of yellow, red, and white adorn the jetpack. It also comes with a removable rocket as well as an action feature, although in our sample, we had difficulty getting that action feature to work at all. We suppose the inclusion of a separate rocket is enough to add play value for us. But we have to say we’re thrilled to see the unique Merr-Sonn Munitions JT-12 jetpack included here. As you can recall, Jango Fett utilized this jetpack during the Battle of Geonosis. It’s a more sporty model and gives Jango Fett his uniqueness and makes him look like more than just a clone of Boba Fett. (Oh, the irony!) Hasbro included all of the core accessories here, but there are plenty more to help give you the optimal amount of play value possible. Jango Fett also comes with two removable gauntlet blades, a cable, and an extra set of arms with “bendy” fingers, although we’re not quite sure if that feature was necessary for the hands. Either way, Jango Fett is tremendously superior to most of Hasbro’s 12 Inch Figures. We highly suggest this “deluxe” version of him as it does give us an ultimate look at the most popular villain in the film.
