Bacara was a clone commander who worked alongside General Ki-Adi-Mundi against Separatist the droid armies on Mygeeto, an Outer Rim planet controlled by the InterGalactic Banking Clan. Commander Bacara also went by the numerical designation Commander 1138. Though he fought alongside the Jedi in numerous battles, his ultimate loyalty was to the Republic and its Supreme Chancellor. When Palpatine contacted Bacara personally and executed Order 66, Bacara carried out the command without question. He and his fellow Galactic Marines opened fire on Ki-Adi-Mundi, killing their general.

If there was one tour date that was a “head scratcher” for Gentle Giant Ltd.’s 2007 World Tour, it was Baltimore, Maryland. Baltimore Comic Con was the fifth and final stop for World Tour 2007 and lucky attendees were treated to an exclusive Commander Bacara Mini Bust that was limited to only 2000 pieces. Not many Star Wars collectors trekked out to this event, so while the Commander Bacara Mini Bust sold out, it didn’t have the reach that Commander Cody or Commander Gree did since they were at conventions that typically caters to Star Wars collectors. The sad thing about the lack of Commander Bacara’s limited availability was that it may just be one of the finest clone commanders in the set of five manufactured. Not too many licensees outside of Hasbro have even attempted to bring Commander Bacara into a collectible format, so this was a treat in and of itself. Simply put, Commander Bacara is a wonderful collectible Mini Bust and an exciting release for fans of Revenge Of The Sith.

The Commander Bacara Mini Bust doesn’t deviate that much from the other clone commanders released in the Mini Bust format, but it’s worth noting the obvious that an all-new head sculpt needed to be sculpted and manufactured for his unique armor. He is also wearing a close-fitting pauldron which also needed to be designed. Commander Bacara’s deco is actually simple in comparison to the other more colorful clone commanders. He doesn’t have any bright flashes of color adorning his armor. The somewhat drab colors of gray and maroon accent his look tremendously, but he is certainly more subdued in appearance than Commander Cody, Commander Gree or Commander Bly for that matter. Commander Bacara comes with a DC-15 blaster rifle attachment. He looks fantastic holding it, but it is a little obtrusive as it sticks out far from his body. When displaying him on a shelf, we imagine that you’ll find trouble making space for him because ge will have to be placed at the perfect angle as to not interfere with the other Mini Busts in your collection.

Limited to only 2000 pieces, Commander Bacara isn’t that common. Gentle Giant Ltd. may have been wise to reduce his edition size. Compared to both Commander Cody and Commander Gree, Commander Bacara pales in comparison popularity wise. We’re particularly fond of this Mini Bust and truly believe it’s one of Gentle Giant’s finest moments in polystone. Part of the 21st Nova Corps, he is designated as CC-1138. This also means that he is the THX 1138 link in Episode III. The Commander Bacara Mini Bust is without question a fantastic collectible. And he is the perfect complement to the clone commander concentration Gentle Giant is focusing on for 2007. If you’re looking to grab all five clone commanders at once, Gentle Giant reserved the first 500 pieces of each clone commander and boxed them together with the same edition number on each piece. If you’re so inclined, go for that set, if not, getting them piece meal is just as rewarding.
