In 1977, Star Wars writer and director George Lucas captured the imagination and wonder of movie audiences worldwide as he took them to a galaxy far, far away. Lucas's pioneering spirit, innovative vision and bold risk-taking maneuvers helped establish him not only as a groundbreaking director, but also as a complete filmmaker.

Almost 30 years, six completed Star Wars movies and a world-reknown entertainment empire later, George Lucas brings the quintessential space fantasy to an epic conclusion in Revenge of the Sith. The last installment of the Star Wars series is truly a family affair! George, his son Jett and daughters Katie and Amanda all make an appearance on the big screen.

This exclusive Lucas Collector's Set includes all four family members as they appear in the film and is sure to be a cherished collector's item that you will enjoy for generations to come.

Sigh. The Lucas Collector’s Set is about equally enthralling as it is boring. You likely would have to be a George Lucas zealot to find deep interest in this multipack, a proud StarWarsShop.com exclusive. They’ve billed this item and placed it on the same plateau as an item that would capture the same audience as the over-sensationalized Jorg Sacul figure from 2002. But many years have squeaked by since that exclusive figure and now George is back, with the rest of the family in a decent multipack that is good, but not the most exciting exclusive set in the world. IN the box you get a repacked Zett Jukass from 2005’s Revenge Of The Sith line in addition to three all-new characters including Baron Papanoida, Terr Taneel and Chi Eekway. The new action figures here are pretty good for the most part. Their sculpting and design significantly supersedes their articulation, but since you’ll likely just be adding them into your displays as diorama fodder, they’re the perfect accent to collectors who love the obscure.

The three new characters introduced in this set can be seen fraternizing with each other in various scenes of the film in addition to some deleted scenes that didn’t make the final cut of Episode III. Each has excellent sculpting and nice paint operations. But as we have already mentioned, articulation was not a priority here at all. Zett Jukassa is the boring figure of the set. His face to is too cherubic and Hasbro didn’t make any new enhancements to the figure so it’s a straight repack of the 2005 figure. His lightsaber comes as a hilt and a blade which is a feature we love, but these types of lightsabers are very breakable. Be careful! Baron Papanoida looks remarkably similar to George Lucas. Hasbro even gave him an aged body type look and it’s well-represented here. He’s thicker in the middle and his face looks fuller. And his ornate costume is very authentic to what was seen in the film. The best part of this figure is his included cane. The handle is an “Easter egg” and is the first Death Star. It is very tiny, but you can make it out clearly.

Terr Taneel is another great figure in the set. For some reason she is very reminiscent of Padmé Amidala, but only because of her outfit and not her likeness. The figure is a statue below the waist and the dress she is wearing is sculpted plastic. It’s detailed very nicely and her head adornment is very well done too. She comes without any accessories at all. Chi-Eekway is the plump Twi’lek who along with Terr Taneel is part of the earliest band of freedom fighters who ultimately become the start of the Rebel Alliance. You can see her interact with Padmé Amidala in the deleted scenes of Episode III. The action figure’s likeness in the face is OK, but the costume is perfect, so this action figure gets a much higher mark for its execution than accuracy. Her outer robes are removable (it’s a separate plastic sculpt) and just like Terr Taaneel, she too is a statue from the waist down. Chi Eekway is very nicely painted and Hasbro clearly spent some time getting the paint jobs perfectly. This set is good, but wound up being marked down to under $5 at StarWarsShop.com. What a shame.
