The evil Empire prepares to crush the Rebellion with a more powerful Death Star, as the Rebels launch an attack to destroy the Imperial battle station. As the Alliance battles Imperial forces, Luke confronts his father and the Emperor in a struggle that determines the fate of the galaxy and ultimately brings balance to the Force.

We’ve reached the sixth and final Blu-ray Release Commemorative Figure & Mini-Poster Collection, this time based on the saga’s conclusive Return Of The Jedi film. Probably our most favorite film of the Star Wars saga (for many reasons), it definitely provided a powerful conclusion to all the drama throughout the landmark films that make up the Star Wars Prequel and Original Trilogies. Hasbro represented the sixth episode of the Star Wars saga quite well with their tributary boxed set. Collectors are treated to another crack at Biker Scout, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader and a sort of new take of Han Solo (in his trench coat by the way) which is a pre-pack of the upcoming The Vintage Collection figure that will see release Fall 2011. In all, these four premium figures have all been cast wonderfully. All have great sculpts as you’re well aware and fit together perfectly in this commemorative multipack. It’s quite amazing when you think about it how far the line has come in general. In years past, the multipacks came with lackluster figures. This set by comparison is quite impressive, from the contents to the packaging.

Biker Scout is a straight repack of 2009’s LC Biker Scout (BD12) figure, which is a repaint of 2006’s VTSC Biker Scout figure. Super-articulated and simply accessorized, the Biker Scout is one of the greatest action figure Hasbro has every developed. It’s definitive in every sense of the word and deserves release upon release. Luke Skywalker is a slight repaint of 2010’s TVC Luke Skywalker (Endor Capture) (VC23) figure. We are saying slight repaint because in this multipack release Luke has darker hair again. It’s not quite light brown, but it’s a darker shade of blonde than the basic figure. Keep in mind it’s something that most collectors won’t care about at all, but we have to note variances in this column. (It’s just the way we do things here.) Darth Vader is a slight repaint of 2008’s TLC Darth Vader (BD 8) figure and more closely matches the paint job seen on 2010’s SW [SOTDS] Darth Vader (SL06) Saga Legends figure ( the first version before Hasbro changed it to the 500th figure). A fantastic figure, we also noticed that the helmet fits much more snuggly and stays on the figure easier as well.

The nicest addition (in our opinion) is the updated Han Solo figure, who will be released as Han Solo (In Trench Coat) (VC62) in The Vintage Collection in 2011. Hasbro took the 2008 TLC Shield Generator Assault Han Solo figure, slightly repainted him by reducing the brightness of the highlights/streaks in his hair and added a trench coat based on the one that came with 2006’s VTSC Han Solo (In Trench Coat) figure but now is cut from a different fabric, cut and has an all new dye job. So it could be said that this is an all-new figure for the basic figure line. And it’s cool that he is available as a pre-pack to his basic figure counterpart coming months after the commemorative set release. Perhaps the most cohesive set in the Blu-ray Release Commemorative Figure & Mini-Poster Collection, it focuses on the events prior to the Battle Of Endor as all four characters can be found on Endor within minutes of each other as seen in Episode VI. It can almost be considered a Battle Packs within itself! But anyway, the Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi set ranks right up there with the Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back set. They both contain an excellent selection of figures to celebrate a very important moment in the history of the Star Wars saga!
