Another Disney+ series means another era in which Hasbro will waste all of its new tooling budget on characters with whom longtime collectors have little or no interest. So, here we are with the Disney Star Wars Andor series, a show that has mixed reviews and is generally found slow-paced by those that watch it. The lead character is one of the first made for The Vintage Collection, and as you’d expect, the action figure is well made. But will you buy it for your collection? And will all the remaining 3.75-inch action figure collectors pitch in their hard-earned funds to make this figure a success? Hasbro produced an all-new version of Cassian Andor. The figure comes with no other descriptors in its name, so it will likely get confused with Cassian Andor (VC130) figure in archives and other resource materials. It will also get confused in eBay listings. That said, collectors who decide to purchase the figure will undoubtedly be impressed with what Hasbro accomplished here. The detail of the portrait is rather impressive. And the rest of this figure is beautiful as well. You can pose Cassian Andor in countless ways with enhanced ball-socket hips and “rocker” ankles. The figure’s coat shell is removable, but with any outerwear shells, the figure looks silly with it removed. Hasbro also included a blaster pistol, and although it fits both hands well, it is designed for the right hand. It will be a painfully long wait before we have a cast of characters from the Andor series that can interact with each other. But the show probably won’t last that long, and we’ll never get all the action figures, for those that want them, from this series. With so many collectors losing interest in collecting at what seems to be an exponential rate, Hasbro should focus on what collectors care about instead of feeling the pressure to get out characters based on new Entertainment. Because although anecdotal, there isn’t enough interest in the characters of Disney Star Wars.
