The Star Wars Retro Collection is inspired by 1970s STAR WARS figures and features original figure design and detailing! Continue your collection from the galaxy far, far away!

The Fifth Brother is another expected addition to the Retro Collection wave of figures created by Hasbro to support the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. Once we saw the character produced for The Black Series 6-inch line, it became increasingly inevitable for Hasbro to create the character in some 3.75-inch format. While many may be disappointed to see this character first in the Retro Collection, it’s likely equally inevitable that it is planned for The Vintage Collection too. The Fifth Brother’s realistically-styled action figure’s appearance is quite different from the one seen in past Star Wars animated sources. For The Obi-Wan Kenobi series, they chose an Asian actor to play the character. We think the animated style of the character works better because he looks more imposing than the one in Obi-Wan Kenobi. But this action figure works well as an action figure in many ways too. One of the few figures with only one accessory in this wave of Retro Collection figures, Hasbro only opted to include the character’s double-bladed red lightsaber. With only five points of swivel articulation, there aren’t too many options the action figure offers. But we believe most collectors buy this line for posterity purposes and choose to keep the figure sealed behind the plastic bubble on the card, which is understandable too. Fifth Brother has a decent likeness, and the paint operations are mostly well applied. But something, like most of these figures, got lost in translation, so it serves as nothing more than a novelty in the Hasbro Star Wars action figure line. Some feel the action figures in this wave of Retro Collection figures aren’t diverse enough, and we have to agree. Wouldn’t a young Leia Organa be an excellent choice here instead?
