Hasbro approached The Black Series [Phase IV] Bo-Katan Kryze and Koska Reeves identically to how they handled The Vintage Collection versions. One is a retool and repaint of the other. YOU can’t fault Hasbro for reusing tooling for both formats, as they’re generally screen-accurate for both characters, and the actresses are of similar heights to one another. Although Bo-Katan Kryze (VC226) was part of the basic action figure line, Hasbro decided to offer Target the Koska Reeves (VC230) figure. The final figure turned out well, and Target is getting two other The Vintage Collection figures based on characters from The Mandalorian. These characters include Axe Woves and Migs Mayfeld. It’s arguable, but The Vintage Collection Koska Reeves looks a bit better than the 6-inch figure regarding likeness, skin color, and overall accuracy. Plus, with the updated female buck, the 3.75-inch action figures articulate beautifully and achieve realistic poses, unlike their predecessors. In short, Koska Reeves is an incredible action figure with stunning articulation and fabulous detailing and design.

Unlike Bo-Katan Kryze, Koska Reeves makes her debut appearance in The Mandalorian Disney+ series. The character has less of a storyline than the former but quickly found a place in Star Wars fans’ hearts because female Mandalorians always go over well. Hasbro should be proud of Koska Reeves, even if the figure is only a slight retool and repaint. It hasn’t lost any luster after being used for Bo-Katan Kryze. Our only complaint is that Hasbro decided to relegate this figure as a Target exclusive. It should have been part of the mainline. If you’re into The Mandalorian Disney+ series, you have something to be happy about here. Kosak Reeves may not bring much new to the table, but it feels fresh despite reusing many existing parts from Bo-Katan Kryze. It’s an excellent addition to The Vintage Collection. Hasbro nailed so many aspects perfectly for this action figure that we’re once again having trouble deciding what to highlight for you first. There’s a great deal to take in with this action figure, from the sculpting to the paint operations to updated articulation that doesn’t get old.

The figure comes with two interchangeable portraits, which The Vintage Collection collectors only dream of receiving from Hasbro. So, there is no removable helmet here which is fantastic. As happy as we are to receive a second portrait with this figure, we’re not sure if Hasbro nailed the shape of the helmet or not. It feels a little too flat-faced, in our opinion, but something feels slightly off here. Despite this, Hasbro recreated the simple deco beautifully on the helmet, and we have no complaints with the paint job. Another excellent design is the revised belt and holster. Koska Reeves carries one gun, so the figure only needs one holster. The most significant update to these figures is hip articulation. Hasbro took a note from The Black Series 6-inch line and decided to incorporate two ball-socket hips, instead of two ball-jointed hips, into the action figures. Hasbro also included a removable jetpack, and it plugs into the back of the figure tightly. Overall, we get a lot of “stuff” with Koska Reeves, and the figure will undoubtedly become a favorite figure for collectors of The Vintage Collection.
