Hasbro appears to have success with the two-inch Mission Fleet line. They keep pumping out new products, and they seem to move relatively well at the retail stores that carry them. They’re not the briskest of sellers, but the units move, and some have discovered a newfound passion in this line. With budgets and parameters set apart from the standard collector-focused lines, the Mission Fleet line offers the Star Wars collecting community and new young fans an animated take at the Star Wars universe. The second wave of the Gear Class Vehicles assortment focuses once again on the Prequel trilogy era. With one character from The Clone Wars and the other from Revenge Of The Sith, Hasbro is sticking with the younger side of the Star Wars timeline to focus this line. Darth Maul is based on the character’s appearance from The Clone Wars. The figure comes with robotic legs and a different outfit. Our sample’s paint operations aren’t perfect, but overall, Hasbro did an excellent job decorating this action figure. Hasbro designed the “vehicle” to interact with the included Darth Maul figure flawlessly. There are footpegs on the platform, and there are two handles perfectly positioned for the Darth Maul figure to hold onto when traveling on the six-legged droid. The Sith probe droid it comes with serves as both a walker and a method of defense. And for good measure, Hasbro included a double-bladed lightsaber that breaks down into two halves. The 2-inch line comes with decent articulation, and the articulation systems are standards throughout it. Yes, it’s a bit alarming to see nothing but Mission Fleet on the pegs at retail, but the line is quality, and we hope it sticks around for a bit longer.
