Wicket W. Warrick

General analysis!

WICKET's friendly adventurous and mischievous nature makes him a leader among other young EWOKS.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but in retrospect, it's a bit peculiar that Kenner decided to pack four villains and only two Ewoks in a line called "EWOKS." Wicket W. Warrick is one of two Ewoks packed into the first and only wave of 1985 EWOKS action figures by Kenner. The line that supports the television series was short-lived, and although Kenner planned a second wave with a better balance of Ewoks and villains, it never got released, much to the chagrin of the show's fans. Wicket W. Warrick is a personification of "cutesy." With big doe eyes and a perfectly rounded face, Wicket W. Warrick enters the line with sugary sweetness and not too much articulation. Kenner didn't give Wicket W. Warrick any head articulation. It's a shame because it feels that a character like this needs head movement. Kenner gave Wicket a spear, but it's pretty different than the one we see in STAR WARS EPISODE VI: RETURN OF THE JEDI. Kenner cast it in tan, and it has a feather on it. We feel the EWOKS line failed because it didn't launch with enough Ewoks characters. Had the first wave contain a better balance, or minimally two additional EWOKS characters, the line may have sustained itself better at retail, even if but for a bit longer. Wicket W. Warrick is an adorable action figure, but it feels like a "one-off" instead of part of a lineup or collection.
