This distinctive collection features premium deco applications inspired by the end credit images from The Mandalorian, plus a collectible Imperial Credit accessory. After the fall of the Galactic Empire, usage of their form of money, Imperial Credits, became less common with many planets refusing payments in the currency on principle.

The Black Series [Credit Collection] line is an interesting take of the 6” format. It’s part tongue-in-cheek. Hasbro based the paint operations on the concept art that runs during the end credits of the Disney+ series, hence “Credit Collection.” And each figure comes with an Imperial credit accessory that is a different color for each character. Cara Dune quickly grabbed the hearts of fans of The Mandalorian. And Hasbro ensured that they produced the character in every format possible. Fans of both The Vintage Collection and The Black Series 6” line each have two versions of Cara Dune for their collections. One is realistic, and the other is more “artful.” The paint operations on the “Credit Collection” Cara Dune are quite impressive. Loosely based on the Disney+ series concept art, Cara Dune has red and blue streaks in the hair, a differently colored arm tattoo, and an outfit that looks more seafoam green than teal like the realistic version. The same articulation system is here, as well as the accessories. And although the figure costs $5.00 more than its practical counterpart, you did get an extra addition, not that it makes up for the difference. Housed on a vintage Kenner-inspired card back, complete with the Kenner logo, Cara Dune is collectible in every sense of the word. And the faux-foil card art helps to solidify this assessment. The figures in the 6” line are getting better and better, and Cara Dune proves this beyond expectations. But why isn’t Hasbro prepared to get out more characters from The Mandalorian at the height of its popularity?

Loaded with 28 points of fluid movement, Cara Dune comes with buttery-soft joints that not only move effortlessly but hold their positions well. Cara Dune has a slightly muscular frame, but it doesn’t inhibit the articulation’s movement in the slightest. Action poses, standing poses, aiming poses, and whatever other poses you want to achieve are straightforward, thanks to this action figure’s incredible design. The concept artwork gives Cara Dune a more “Vasquez from Aliens” type of aura. The action figure accurately reflects the beautiful Gina Carano, who plays the character in The Mandalorian series. Cara Dune looks tough but also approachable, and the action figure captures this beautifully. And Cara Dune is a personification of the real-life actress we see beating down those full of hate on Twitter. The new paint operations on Cara Dune will require some adjustment time. They look odd on many parts of the figure. They are also beautiful and interpretive and add a dimension of collectability that standard releases do not have. We’re not trying to justify the price hike on this exclusive figure. But we also have to accept that this is a novelty or niche figure meant to tread water for collectors of The Mandalorian until Hasbro produces all-new action figures. We’re not so sure that retailers like TARGET are happy with so much rehashing, but slightly new products are better than nothing, right? How sad is it that Hasbro can’t get out the Retro Collection figures until next summer? Something is awry with Disney Star Wars. And they have to get the momentum rolling again.

Cara Dune comes with a nice amount of accessories. Our favorite accessory is the dagger. The figure holds it well in both hands, but there is a little more “grasp” when you place it into the left hand because the hand’s position is “more” in line with a fisted grasp. Cara Dune also comes with a blaster pistol. When not in use, you can house in the functioning blaster on the right hip. It’s a bit difficult to reclose the strap on the holster, but it isn’t impossible. The gun has to be pushed down far, so it doesn’t block the hole. The blaster pistol is best-utilized in the left hand. Lastly, Cara Dune comes with a strapped heavy blaster rifle where the strap is completely removable from the gun. This extra piece allows you to drape it over the figure’s shoulders when not used or remove it to have Cara Dune hold the blaster rifle with two hands. Hasbro designed all of the accessories beautifully. And they paid close attention to the reference materials, which resulted in a design that will make all collectors happy. If Disney Star Wars can tie in the Original Trilogy as much as they can to the new Star Wars Entertainment, they’ll keep having hit after hit. The Mandalorian has proven this in spades to them. They must remain faithful to the Original Trilogy timeline and abandon everything else. We also hope that Hasbro continues to make significant action figures of the characters from the show. We don’t feel there are enough characters produced to support The Mandalorian. They need to keep the toys coming. But until Hasbro makes more, be sure to enjoy the repaints because they’re desperate to get out products that support The Mandalorian. They weren’t prepared.
