We believe that most collectors will find the BB Units [Red/Black] set the best of the three produced. With two bold colors, neon red and black, the set pops a little more brightly than the other two from the first assortment. Interestingly, Hasbro added a BB-9E version of BB-8 in this set, which makes for an interesting dichotomy, but they look more like clones than anything else. The neon red BB Unit comes with a white BB-9E dome, and you’ll find silver details throughout the figure as well. These particular BB Units are from The Force Awakens and Star Wars [The Last Jedi] Two-Packs sets that came with other figures. These figures are admittedly lightweight disappointments. But if you’re looking for quick background BB Units, then these two-packs will work out nicely for you. Hasbro opted for simple paint operations this time around, but they’ve opened up the palette to many different colors, including neon red, purple, white, blue, etc. Each droid features a leveled bottom to stand upright unassisted, but that also limits how you can display them into your collection. The droids interact nicely together and add more color to the Galaxy’s Edge Trading Outpost lineup, and for many, these will be useful additions for collections. We’d like to see less Sequel Trilogy-related characters in this product line. We know that collectors would have much preferred to see three other Astromech Droids added to the line instead of six random BB Units. And we anticipate that the BB Units packs will collect on store shelves as well. Hopefully, Hasbro has big plans for the Galaxy’s Edge Trading Outpost line and that many other Astromech Droids are planned for the line. Droid variety is nice, but they shouldn’t have gone with a 50% Astromech Droids and 50% BB Units to launch this line of Droid Factory/Build A Droid figures. And coincidentally, the BB Units don’t fall under the latter categories either. Suppose you love BB Units, excellent. But we believe a stronger focus on Astromech Droids will be a wiser and more fertile area to produce new droid action figures.
