Chopper is the resident droid of the Ghost, assisting the crew in everything from ship maintenance to combat, even though he doesn't always want to.

As you know, Hasbro launched The Black Series [Phase IV] line look with a "wave" of figures from Star Wars Rebels, all updated in some fashion or another to make them look better than ever. Chopper (C1-10P) is without question the only figure of the lot that received the fewest amount of updates. There are no humanoid features to update with Photo Real. So the only changes you'll find are variances in the paint operations. Chopper (C1-10P) is an excellent 6" figure. We wish the figure came with a few more features, like panel openings and whatnot, but Hasbro did a fantastic job of capturing the wonky astromech droid's personality. That personality is a massive part of the character. Many Star Wars collectors liken the nature of Chopper (C1-10P) to Jar Jar Binks. You will probably either love or hate the character, with very few people center of these extremes. No matter your position of Chopper (C1-10P), we're confident that you'll appreciate what Hasbro has worked into the 6" version of this character. Interestingly, and we're on the fence about this, it seems as if Hasbro neglected to transition Chopper (C1-10P) from an "animated" style to a "realistic" style. The Black Series [Phase IV] 6" version of Chopper (C1-10P) possesses the rotund shape and rounded features of the animated type of the character from the television series.

Surprisingly, Chopper (C1-10P) comes with almost an identical articulation system as 2017's Droid Factory C1-10P "CHOPPER" figure. A swivel head is accompanied by two swivel legs, hinge-jointed feet, an articulated extension arm, and articulated arms on the head of Chopper (C1-10P). The only difference is that for the 6" figure, they tuck away inside the head and convert to panels, which are a stunning feature here. Also, just like the Droid Factory figure, Chopper (C1-10P) comes with an interchangeable right leg (to match his left leg) and a removable "tire" third leg to replace with the rocket. Diorama builders will love the display included with Chopper (C1-10P) too. It's an environmental "fireball" base. Then the interchangeable rocket "third leg" attachment has a stem of "fire" that inserts into the base, giving Chopper (C1-10P) a flying effect that works stunningly well. We were sure the fire stem attached to the rocket was removable, but we were unsuccessful in removing it. Perhaps we didn't try hard enough, but we could not display Chopper (C1-10P) with the rocket attachment alone. What's interesting is that the "tire" third leg and the "rocket" third leg are different lengths, and if you're not careful, the tire will insert too far up the cavity of Chopper (C1-10P). It then becomes difficult to remove because it's lodged so high. We believe this is a Hasbro oversight.

Chopper (C1-10P) has a beautiful paint job. Copying panel by panel, part by part, directly from the character in the Star Wars Rebels television show, Hasbro faithfully recreated Chopper (C1-10P) to the onscreen likeness without a hitch. The orange head, cream-colored body, and army green and yellow details pull the character together unexpectedly. Hasbro should be proud of what they accomplished with this 6" figure. They captured the spirit and the attitude of the character wonderfully. The character of Chopper (C1-10P) doesn't have that much movement in the television series, so it makes sense why Hasbro didn't add anything out of the ordinary to the figure' articulation system. The hinge-jointed feet don't give a fantastic range of motion, but they move enough to help you create poses where Chopper (C1-10P), where the droid uses all of his legs. The articulated arms have a superior range of movement to help give him the spunky personality he portrays in the show. Chopper (C1-10P) should deliver everything you wanted him to in the 6" line. Again, aside from not being too sure if this is an animated take or realistic take on the character, we think Chopper (C1-10P) is a fine "re-addition" to The Black Series 6" lineup. It is entirely to scale and looks brilliant amongst the other Ghost crew members that we already have in the 6" line.
