"Along time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."

The adventure continues with this exciting introduction of exclusives figures from the Star Wars trilogy! Authentically styled with incredible detail, each fully poseable,

COLLECT THEM ALL!

Grand Moff Tarkin admires the power of the Death Star as it obliterates its first target, Princess Leia's home planet, Alderaan.

In 1997, Kenner/Hasbro released two Collector Series two-packs as FAO Schwarz exclusives that became extremely popular with Star Wars collectors. They sold well but ultimately didn't meet demand. Both the Jedi Luke Skywalker & Bib Fortuna and Grand Moff Tarkin & Imperial Gunner (With Interrogator Droid) two-packs contained never-before-released and popular Star Wars characters, so Kenner/Hasbro needed to find a way to get them out to the collecting community once again. Hasbro pulled Grand Moff Tarkin from these sets and released the figure as a general marketplace single release. With some paint operation differences and a new fabric utilized for the costume, Grand Moff Tarkin feels refreshed in the lineup. Interestingly, Kenner/Hasbro also included the Interrogator Droid with Grand Moff Tarkin. We feel the pairing of this droid with the head of the Galactic Empire feels odd at best, but whatever Grand Moff Tarkin has a decent likeness to actor Peter Cushing. The 12 Inch Figure appears to look younger to us, but that could be a qualitative observation. We imagine that most collectors are happy to see this figure re-released, but we always felt the Imperial Gunner was better done and resonated more with collectors. We guess we're wrong about this. There are more repacks in the Action Collection line than what we're comfortable with seeing so far. This line will only succeed when new figures are added to the collection. The line needs to pick up, or it's in danger of losing steam.
