Born on the lush, peaceful planet of Kashyyyk, homeworld to the Wookiee species, the 2 meter tall Chewbacca grew restless at an early age and decided to explore the galaxy. After about 140 years his adventures came to an end when he was captured and sold to the Galactic Empire.

Eventually he was rescued from an Imperials labor camp by Han Solo, and Chewbacca became indebted to him for life - a debt of honor, not duty, according to Wookiee custom. "Chewie" became first mate on Han's smuggling ship, Millennium Falcon, and the unlikely pair formed a friendship for life.

Like all Wookiees, Chewbacca speaks in a language of grunts and growls, which becomes frighteningly loud when he is angry. Although he's quite capable of literally tearing an enemy apart limb from limb, he's usually good tempered, friendly, and has a kind heart.

Authentically styled straight from the Star Wars trilogy, Chewbacca features his signature bowcaster, along with a pouch and shoulder strap packed with ammo. This special edition 12" figure, available for the first time ever, is destined to become a classic collectible.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Chewbacca is the worst 12” figure Kenner/Hasbro has made or ever will make. What in the world prompted them to produce a “plush” version of the beloved Wookie? Why didn’t they approach the character in a similar direction to the vintage Kenner Stormtrooper Large Size Action Figure? Chewbacca should have bene completely molded in plastic for better proportions and more accurate aesthetics. Instead, Chewbacca is not much more than a wireframe with fur. The figure comes with barely a waist, and the legs are extra-long and high and go high up into the figure’s torso. Both the hands and feet are capped with molded plastic pasts. These features allow Chewbacca to stand and hold the included bowcaster, so these plastic parts are important here. Chewbacca also comes with a bandolier with a soft-goods satchel at the end of it. Because of the wireframe, you can achieve a variety of poses with Chewbacca, but they’re not meaningful, and it’s a tad difficult to return Chewbacca to his normal shape. There isn’t a “true” head sculpt here. Chewbacca has more of a “faceplate” here, and the likeness is dreadful. It’s a crying shame this figure got approved by Lucasfilm. It’s one of Kenner/Hasbro’s worst efforts.
