Luke Skywalker and the ragtag Rebels opposing the Galactic Empire are fresh off their biggest victory so far – the destruction of the massive Death Star, but the Empire's not toppled yet! When a Rebel assault goes wrong, Han and Leia must think fast to make their escape – while Luke comes face-to-face with Darth Vader! In the explosive aftermath, a humbled Luke returns to Tatooine to learn more about his mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

There’s always one or two figures in The Black Series [Phase III] 6” line each year that starts off as some type of exclusive before getting released as a basic figure in the general marketplace. For 2019, both the Sith Trooper and Luke Skywalker (Yavin Ceremony) have been promoted to convention exclusive after Hasbro planned them into the general 6” lineup. Although 2019’s TBS [P3] Luke Skywalker (Yavin Ceremony) made it out before the convention exclusive did, the Luke Skywalker (Skywalker Strikes) set didn’t lag too far behind it. In the set, which interestingly showed up at GameStop first before a convention (as well as at Hasbro Pulse before a convention), we get the standard Luke Skywalker (Yavin Ceremony) figure with a plethora of accessories. It also costs $10 more and comes in exclusive comic book-inspired packaging that is as colorful as it is beautiful. The version of Luke Skywalker (with all of the accessories) feels like it has strong ties to The Star Wars Holiday Special animated short, but that’s just steeped in a feeling, and not based on any factual events that take place. We’ll take a closer look at what you get with the Luke Skywalker (Skywalker Strikes) exclusive 6” figure. It’s a lot!

Luke Skywalker (Skywalker Strikes) still comes with the removable jacket shell in addition to the blaster that you can house in the functioning holster. But this time the medal of honor was eliminated. You can only get that accessory at the moment in The Black Series [Phase III] “100th" 6” figure. Instead, Hasbro added a ton of awesome accessories where some are familiar, while others are not. Included is a Jedi training remote permanently affixed to an “invisible” stand. The bottom of the stand has a ball-socket joint, and it plugs into an “invisible” base. As you might imagine, you get a nice range of movement thanks to this setup. Hasbro also added an energy deflection effect for realism. Also included, and collectors will be very happy about this, is a lightsaber hilt and lightsaber blade. You can have Luke Skywalker (Skywalker Strikes) interact with the lightsaber and the included Jedi training remote. The last accessory that interacts with this group of interactive parts in the blastshield helmet. First seen on the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, this one is a little different as it’s clearly marked with the Rebel Alliance insignias. When fully configured, Luke Skywalker (Skywalker Strikes) looks incredible.

The other two accessories are featured in the graphic novel. The first is a cargo case marked in Aurebesh identifying it as something for Luke Skywalker. But you also get Obi-Wan Kenobi’s journal (which fits inside of the cargo case) which was retrieved from his hut on Tatooine. As you can see, you get a ton of stuff with Luke Skywalker (Skywalker Strikes). And it makes the extra $10 worth it. Luke Skywalker (Skywalker Strikes) might be the best-looking Luke Skywalker figure in the 6” line to date. Hasbro captured a near-perfect likeness of actor Mark Hamill’s youthful features and developed a stunning action figure that should please fans of this line. You can utilize this figure in displays based on The Star Wars Holiday Special’s animated short, promotional images of the first Star Wars film, or at the climax of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, as well as his appearances in the comics. Luke Skywalker (Skywalker Strikes) can attain a wide array of poses and has excellent movement. He looks incredible, brandishing his blaster, or holding any of the accessories included her. Hasbro has gone out of their way to make this as universally available as much as possible, and numerous Fan Channel outlets are offering it both online and in-store.
