So. Do you think someone will slice Supreme Leader Kylo Ren in half and close that storyline as quickly as possible? In all seriousness, the Galaxy Of Adventures line has exceeded our expectations. But there will always remain a large facet of collectors that object to any animated interpretations of Star Wars characters. Supreme Leader Kylo Ren makes up the first wave of the Galaxy Of Adventures 5” figure line, and like all the others so far, the figure impresses. Based on what the action figure presents to collectors, there are some changes to Kylo Ren’s helmet that we didn’t expect to see. There are red “cracked” lines throughout it, and it helps to enhance the red lightsaber he wields. Supreme Leader Kylo Ren also comes with a removable molded cloak that frames his body like a glove. Movement is completely inhibited when he wears it, but we think it is meant to be a statement that anything else. So, present him in your collection initially with the cloak on, and they quickly remove it when you’re ready to pose him battling his enemies, or frenemies like Rey. Supreme Leader Kylo Ren works well in the Galaxy Of Adventures line, and it makes sense why he’s part of the first wave of action figures.
The Galaxy Of Adventures line had taken a turn for the better when it increased its scale, but we’d be lying if we said we wouldn’t want to see these all-new sculpts done up in 3.75” scale instead. While we’re not super-excited to see a new scale of figures introduced into the Star Wars toy line, we have to admit that these figures turned out exquisitely, and they’re already some of our most-favorite releases from Triple Force Friday. We hope that Hasbro takes the line into some uncomfortable routes and thinks outside of the box. Hasbro added a mix of OT and ST characters to help balance things out, but the Chewbacca and Darth Vader figures already released in this line show what Hasbro can accomplish to create interest in longtime collectors. We hope more “old school” Original Trilogy characters we’ll soon be on tap for this line. Regardless, the focus is on the Sequel Trilogy right now, and they’ve included Rey and Supreme Leader Kylo Ren so fans can recreate their encounter in Episode IX, whatever that may be. So while we’re in the middle of new Star Wars Entertainment, there will be a focus on Sequel Trilogy characters in this line moving ahead. Let’s take a closer look at Supreme Leader Kylo Ren.
Rey may have another beautiful sculpt in the Galaxy Of Adventures line, but Hasbro did a wonderful job of translating Supreme Leader Kylo Ren's unique characteristics into an animated style, too. From his lean body frame to his battle-damaged helmet, Hasbro gave us a lot to appreciate with this figure. Hasbro sometimes struggles when it comes to human features every once in a while, so they took that risk out of the picture here by giving Supreme Leader Kylo Ren a helmeted portrait. The rest of Supreme Leader Kylo Ren turned out well too. His outfit hasn’t changed much throughout the years, and they ensured they remained faithful to this character, his outfit, and his accessories. Supreme Leader Kylo Ren comes with his signature lightsaber and a removable molded cloak for accessories. Hasbro designed his hands to accommodate the lit lightsaber with a two-handed grip. It’s nice to see this applied to a kids’ line. And although the molded cloak inhibits the figure’s movement, it provides an iteration of Supreme Leader Kylo Ren that borders in mysterious as well as threatening. Overall, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren is another excellent release in the Galaxy Of Adventures line. He looks great battling next to Rey or standing by himself ruling the galaxy, complete with 23 points of articulation. He does it well.
