What new Star Wars trailer? Rey! We have another Rey action figure, everyone! And because she’s part of the wonderfully updated Galaxy of Adventures line, this may be a version of her worth considering! The Galaxy Of Adventures line has taken a turn for the better. While we’re not super-excited to see a new scale of figures introduced into the Star Wars toy line, we have to admit that these figures turned out exquisitely, and they’re already some of our most-favorite releases from Triple Force Friday. We hope that Hasbro takes the line into some uncomfortable routes and thinks outside of the box. The Chewbacca and Darth Vader figures already released in this line show what Hasbro can accomplish. And we hope more “old school” Original Trilogy characters we’ll soon be on tap for this line. But, we’re in the middle of new Star Wars Entertainment, and unfortunately for us, this means there will be a focus on Sequel Trilogy characters. We’re not knocking the quality of the Sequel Trilogy characters released in this line, but it does draw attention away from what sells strongly. Thankfully, Rey is another fantastic release in the Galaxy of Adventures line. Let’s take a closer look at her and see why she shines in the line.

Rey has one of the most beautiful sculpts in the Galaxy Of Adventures line. Hasbro did a fantastic job of translating her human features into an animated style. We can’t but notice her pronounced ears immediately. Daisy Ridley does have distinct ears, but we think the interpretation of them Hasbro tooled into this figure is more caricatured than how they are. Unfortunately, Rey’s ears look a tad elf-like on this figure. It’s noticeable, but not the focus of the figure. Hasbro sometimes struggles when it comes to human features every once in a while. When they’ve created princess Leia Organa figures, they overcompensated on making her cheeks larger because of Carrie Fisher’s baby face, which never resulted in a good-looking action figure. Hasbro should be extra careful when they try to incorporate any characteristic of a human that is pronounced into an action figure because the translation can be devastating. That aside, the rest of Rey turned out magnificently. The hairstyle, the costume, the articulation, and the accessories all work together like a well-oiled machine and deliver a premium version of Rey that collectors of all ages can enjoy. With her doe eyes and athletic build, she offers a great deal to the GOA line.

Rey comes with a blaster and a lightsaber for accessories. The blaster fits like a glove into the functioning holster around her waist. The fit could not be more perfect than it is. Hasbro also designed her right hand to accept it, complete with the trigger finger in place and the rest of her fingers wrapped around the blaster. A bit more surprising is her lightsaber. The handle is very thick, and it’s a bit of a challenge to wrap her hand around the hilt, but it is possible to achieve. More importantly, with a little extra patience, you can get Rey to hold the lightsaber with both hands. It’s a bit trickier, but the figure looks incredible once you accomplish this pose. We mentioned we’d love to see Hasbro take the Galaxy of Adventures line outside of the box and outside of their comfort zone. By this, we mean that we hope Hasbro will rummage through the lists of alien characters and incorporate them into the Galaxy of Adventures line. Can you imagine what a galaxy of Adventures Greedo, Admiral Ackbar, or Bib Fortuna would look like and how well they’d be embraced in this line? In the meantime, many of us will have to enjoy the line for what it is at the moment. But hopefully, more aliens will be added and make the line feel Star Wars-y from a classic point of view.
