Lando Calrissian's background is somewhat of a mystery. Available information suggests that he has played many roles throughout his life, a life of high-stakes adventure and daring courage.

Lando has been everything from a smuggler, to a gambler, to a hero. From a reluctant traitor siding with the Empire, to a General in the Rebel Alliance, Calrissian has done it all. In fact, he was the original owner of the Millennium Falcon, before he lost the Falcon to his good friend Han Solo in a game of high-stakes sabacc. It was on that ship that Calrissian undertook many of his covert smuggling missions, acquiring large quantities of precious materials that allowed him to live the flashy lifestyle to which he'd become accustomed.

Lando's luck at sabacc changed for the better when he won control of Cloud City at his disposal, he remained profitable by taking advantage of the city's mining and gambling operations. But that all changed when Darth Vader arrived to strike a deal with Lando that would lead him to betray Han Solo. A deal Lando would regret, and later make amends for by saving Solo's life and becoming a valuable contributor to the Rebel cause.

Authentically styled from The Empire Strikes Back, Lando Calrissian is armed with his signature blaster and comes outfitted with cape, shirt, pants, and boots, along with a commlink communicator. This special edition 12" figure, available for the first time ever, is destined to become a classic collectible.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

While the first wave of Collector Series figures was hit and miss, Hasbro upped their game in the second wave by offering collectors of the Collector Series 12 Inch Figures line with characters that Kenner planned, but ultimately canceled, during the original run of the Star Wars brand. Characters like Luke Skywalker (In Bespin Fatigues) and Lando Calrissian existed as prototype Large Size Action Figures in Kenner’s 1980 planning stages, but it took Kenner/Hasbro 17 years to get them updated and produced for release. Now they’re part of the Collector Series line, much to the happiness of collectors across the globe. Lando Calrissian is unequivocally one of the greatest efforts put forth in the Collector Series line. Sadly, as evidenced by his alarming shelf-warming status, he didn’t sell well at all. It’s a shame that this figure didn’t get into the hands of more collectors because we see it as one of the finest accomplishments in the Collector Series 12 Inch Figures line. With an excellent portrait capturing every characteristic and trait of actor Billy Dee Williams, the character of Lando Calrissian is forever immortalized in this beautiful Collector Series release. Kenner/Hasbro faithfully recreated the character’s costume from cape to boot, ensuring the blue shirt and black pants match what we see onscreen perfectly. For some extra play value, Kenner/Hasbro added the wrist commlink Lando uses to alert Lobot that he needs help and call the Cloud City Wing Guard to his aid. Also included is the unmistakable “Bespin” blaster, which is the weapons the Rebel Alliance uses for its protection. The cape is sewn onto the shirt, so it’s not removable. But you won’t care. Lando Calrissian is gorgeous, and we wouldn’t change about him, except for maybe a slightly better skin color. It comes across as too yellow, and a darker brown would have reflected it properly.
