Celebrate the legacy of Star Wars, the action-and-adventure-packed space saga from a galaxy far, far away, with this collection of premium, highly-detailed 3.75-inch scale figures and vehicles. (Each sold separately. Subject to availability.)

Thank the Maker! We’ve finally reached the final episode of the Sequel Trilogy, and what Disney Star Wars refers to as the “Skywalker” story. There is seemingly very little about the Sequel trilogy version of Luke Skywalker that interests longtime fans; so many of us need to be distracted by all-new characters so our focus and attention can be paid elsewhere. For Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker, parts of the First Order interact with the ways of the Force (or something) and some of them don neon red armor and call themselves Sith Troopers. But we now also have Sith Jet Troopers, which take the Sith Trooper to the next level. Hasbro released the standard Sith Trooper in The Black Series [Phase III] 6” line. For The Vintage Collection, collectors are treated to the Sith Jet Trooper, which is a derivation of the former. As with all action figures that are part of The Vintage Collection line, Hasbro tools beautiful sculpts loaded with articulation and detail. The figures are unprecedented, and have anywhere from 28 to 30 points of articulation, which make them uber-poseable. Not all of them are perfect, but they come pretty darn close. And collectors can add the Sith Jet Trooper to the ranks of that “near-perfection” like the many others produced in the last couple of years. Whether or not you’re interested in Episode IX is irrelevant here. You should probably focus your attention on the action figures because they’ve never been made better than they are now, and the Sith Jet Trooper is no exception.

As great as the Sith Jet Trooper is, it’s not perfect. Out of the package, we immediately became disappointed because the figure’s jetpack isn’t removable. It’s glued in place for security purposes, but they could have designed it as a separate accessory with a plug to keep it in place, too. It’s not the end of the word to have the jetpack permanently attached, but designing it as a separate accessory would have been ideal instead. The lack of a removable jetpack means the Sith Jet Trooper only comes with two accessories, and they’re both blasters (but different from each other). The Sith Jet Trooper can hold them relatively well, but you’ll often find they easily dislodge from the figure’s hands and fall out sometimes. We would have loved to see a better grip tooled in the hands so the weapons stay firmly in place. Again, it’s not the end of the world. We’re nitpicking for problems here. Like most other First Order Stormtroopers, the Sith Jet Trooper has a slot in its right thigh armor. Both included guns have a plug that fits into the slot on the thigh armor. Depending upon the weapon, one fits better than the other, and you’ll also find the orientation of the weapon makes a difference in how well it stays in place, too. You can place the Sith Jet Trooper in action-oriented poses while pointing the First Order blaster. He can also hold the guns with both hands, but that requires a little more effort on your part.

As far as paint operations are concerned, well, the Sith Jet Trooper is quite simple in that department. Mostly cast in neon red plastic, Hasbro added black details here and there to help shape and define the character this action figure represents. The armor has smooth contour throughout, and the black details are cleanly applied. You’ll see the same care applied to the weapons. They, too, are cast in the red-colored plastic with painted black details. The Sith Jet Trooper has 30 points of articulation across 17 areas. The total points offer a wide range of movement for the Sith Jet Trooper, and we’re so thankful that we’re collecting in an era of Hasbro Star Wars action figures that has taken articulation to the next level. Many of us remember when 14 points of articulation were good enough for the line. We’re so far ahead of that now, and it feels wonderful. The ball-socket head/reverse ball-socket neck combination system is fantastic. We never got a wide range of movement in action figures’ heads like this back in the day. It’s incredible that Hasbro is employing complex articulation in the 3.75” scale now. The Sith Jet Trooper comes with beautiful packaging art. The character takes up most of the right side of the panel background. And then the figure placement backer and name pill are yellow to contrast against the neon-red armor beautifully. A visually pleasing action figure, the Sith Jet Trooper is one of the new characters for The Rise Of Skywalker that collectors may want to army build.
