A young Corellian named Han Solo entered the Imperial Space Academy to begin a promising military career. Graduating with honors, the hot-shot pilot joined the Imperial Navy, but a twist of fate soon changed his destiny.

The Empire was using Wookiees as slave laborers, and when Han Saw one particular Wookiee being mistreated, his conscience led him to intervene. For saving the Wookiee's life, Han was court-martialed and expelled from military service, but was spared the death penalty. The Wookiee, Chewbacca, assumed a "life debt" to Han Solo and would remain at his side protecting him for life.

Han Solo eventually became a smuggler, accompanied by "first mate" Chewbacca in Han's ship, Millennium Falcon. They embarked on many adventures together, and soon Solo's reputation as one of the best smugglers spread across the galaxy. But on an unfortunate spice-smuggling run, he was forced to dump his cargo to avoid arrest. In debt for losing the spice, he arrived on planet Tatooine to face Jabba the Hutt. Once again, fate would change his plans as he met an old man and an impatient youth who wanted to hire him for passage to planet Alderaan - no questions asked.

Authentically styled straight from the movie, Han Solo is armed with two blasters and is outfitted in the familiar shirt, vest, pants and blaster holster he wore when he first appeared at the cantina on Mos Eisley. This special edition 12" figure, available for the first time ever, is destined to become a classic collectible.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Not as good as Obi-Wan Kenobi from the same wave, but still holding its own nonetheless, Han Solo is another Collector Series figure in the first wave of modern 12 Inch Figures produced by Kenner/Hasbro. The second Han Solo 12 Inch Figure of all time, Kenner/Hasbro produces the first modern Han Solo figure in this bigger scale, and the final results are pretty good. Utilizing the same GI Joe body sculpt figure after figure, the Collector Series line looks quite uniform when you compare the figures produced in it to each other. Han Solo should be taller than Luke Skywalker and shorter than Darth Vader. But he’s neither. However, Kenner/Hasbro faithfully recreated his costume accurately. He comes with a shirt, removable black vest, denim jeans with a red blood stripe pattern running up the left leg. He also comes with a belt/holster combination and removable boots. Han Solo also comes with a DL-44 blaster pistol and an E-11 Imperial issue blaster. He can hold both rather easily in his hands. You’ll find distinct characteristics of the actor. The likeness to actor Harrison Ford isn’t perfect, but it does represent him fairly. When it comes to the figure’s articulation, Han Solo is below average. The bucks that Kenner/Hasbro utilized for this figure doesn’t come with a wealth of articulation. We wish the Collector Series line used a better articulation body type. Overall, Han Solo is a nice addition to the 12 Inch Figures line. From the packaging to the development of the figures, it’s clear that Kenner/Hasbro has collectors in mind when it comes to this line. There are big plans for this line, You can expect many more characters from it.
