Like all First Order Stormtroopers, specialized units of Batuu Mountain Troopers are trained from birth, growing up with unit designations instead of names and fed a steady diet of First Order propaganda to ensure absolute loyalty.

The son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, Ben Solo was seduced by the dark side of the Force and renamed himself Kylo Ren, becoming the First Order's champion and Supreme Leader Snoke's student.

MSE (mouse) droids perform simple tasks aboard starships and in military corporate facilities. They beep to themselves as they perform small repairs, deliver messages, and guide visitors, occasionally exploding into panicked squeals when confused or frightened.

A fearsome First Order stormtrooper officer, Commander Pyre stands out from the legions of identically equipped soldiers with his black-and-gold armor.

If you’re a fan of the Sequel Trilogy, you’re probably going to love what Hasbro is cooking up for Disney Parks’ Galaxy's Edge theme parks. It’s all about the “moichendising” the gift shops within the park are offering up some incredible exclusive action figure multipacks. Entitled The First Order, this multipack brings forth three full-sized 6” The Black Series [Phase III] action figures in addition to an all-new MSE Droid “figure” which functions more like an accessory than anything else. While their current exclusivity might disenchant collectors of the 6” line at the moment, if Hasbro follows through on anything, it’s that they’ll re-release previously exclusive figures in a different capacity in the future, as either a general marketplace item or offered as another retailer exclusive. Not too much new ground is broken on the characters presented in The First Order multipack. (By the way, isn’t that the most boring name for a multipack?) But with smartly added and beautifully designed new parts worked into existing sculpts, clever kit-bashing, or stunning repainting, everyone in The First Order exclusive feels new or significantly refreshed. The set includes a first-time offered Mountain Trooper (with a strong Rogue One or Solo feel to him), a kit-bashed Kylo Ren (the least impressive figure in this lot), the all-new MSE Droid “accessory,” and the shimmery Commander Pyre from Star Wars: Resistance. Beautifully packaged, wonderfully designed and shockingly priced (really but not really), The First Order might be the winner for all of the inaugural The Black Series Galaxy’s Edge exclusives from Hasbro. Let’s take a closer look at everything.

The Mountain Trooper might be our favorite in the set. It doesn’t veer too far off from the standard Scarif Stormtrooper Squad Leader of Imperial Hovertank Pilot (it borrows many of their parts), yet it possesses uniqueness thanks to the many new parts, revised sculpting and different color scheme. Mountain Trooper is a mostly-new kit-bashed figure that utilizes the upper legs and cod section of 2016's TBS [P3] Imperial Hovertank Pilot Toys R Us exclusive figure (and that’s about it). Now Hasbro added an all-new portrait, torso, arms, belt, and lower legs, virtually making the Mountain Trooper an all-new figure. If they tweaked the lower legs, it would have been. It’s a stunning character, and we look forward to how this character is utilized in future films, if at all. We’re surprised that Disney Star Wars has not come clean about where we’ll see this character yet, aside from Galaxy’s Edge. Hopefully, that’s a soon forthcoming announcement. The Mountain Trooper is a character you’re going to fall in love with very quickly. He comes with a long blaster rifle that fits into his hands well. And thanks to wonderful articulation, he can hold it in a variety of ways, including both arms. Hasbro gave the Mountain Trooper a gorgeous paint job. His color palette is fairly antiseptic, but they included dirt accumulation/battle-damage to make him look like he’s served in a couple of battles. In all honesty, he looks like he is ripped right out of Rogue One, and we’re desperate to see him added to The Vintage Collection as soon as possible. Will there be any The Vintage Collection exclusives at Galaxy’s Edge? It seems like they would be a hit there!

Kylo Ren feels like an obligatory addition here. They took two existing figures (one for the helmeted portrait and one for the body) to make a “new” version we surprisingly don’t have yet: Kylo Ren wearing a helmet with a molded cape and no soft-goods. If you have one helmeted Kylo Ren figure, in our opinion, you have them all. He is not the star of this set and may be an annoyance to others. The MSE Droid is a long-awaited 6” figure, and right now this is the way you can acquire one. We had to think twice that this was a new figure because it feels like we already received one, but we didn’t. The MSE Droid makes its debut appearance in a Galaxy’s Edge exclusive! Yay! It’s not like 6” collectors don’t want a bazillion of these to add to their collections, right? Another stunning addition to The Black Series 6” scale, it comes with rotating wheels and unparalleled detail and a realistic paint job. It looks great surrounding the other characters in this set. The final figure, Commander Pyre, may not have the notoriety of the Captain Phasma (06) figure, but this gold (and male) version of her is another fantastic release in the scale. Yes, it’s still a terrible shame that Hasbro picks and chooses what lines get vac-metallization and which ones don’t (Star Wars does NOT receive this treatment), but the gold paint used for Commander Pyre is very, very nice. We think it has a more realistic coat of gold than the one they gave C-3PO (the Walgreens exclusive). Based on one of the earliest 6” figures, the First Order Stormtrooper as well as the repainted pauldron of the First Order Stormtrooper Officer from the Amazon exclusive four-pack, Hasbro combined the parts and recolored the sculpt to bring us Commander Pyre. The First Order set shines, literally, but will you get it for YOUR collection?
