A daring pilot at the Colossus station with a sense of flair and competitiveness, Torra Doza has the combined energy of a hotshot ace and a fifteen-year old.
Collectors should be able to appreciate the way Hasbro approaches an action figure line. And we believe that the Star Wars: Resistance line is one that deserves this attention. Sure, simply articulated action figures are nothing new. They’ve been produced by Hasbro for over a half-decade now. But when dynamic sculpting, faithfulness to the animation and brilliant paint operations work together, it creates a basic figure line that interests the visual senses. Although perhaps not properly described as an ideal wave of action figures, the first group of Star Wars [Resistance] figures by Hasbro meet our expectations. We imagine that they’ll meet yours too. With a properly ratioed cast of men, women, aliens, and troopers, Star Wars: Resistance may have what it takes to develop a strong fan base.
Whether the action figure line gains a stronghold is a completely different thing, however. The action figure industry is struggling. With too-large of a population in the Star Wars collecting community waiting for clearance for most items, retail adopts the position that there isn’t enough interest in the line. They’ll order less and less, and the Star Wars line will shrink until it is no more. Sure, it will take a long period to happen, but it’s happening, and many other collectors are shuddering about what might come next. Thankfully, we have great figures like Torra Doza to distract us some. In a surprising move, Hasbro tooled an alternate portrait for her, something they do next to never. For that reason alone we give Torra Doza an almost perfect score. Had she been given a weapon accessory, we might have ranked her as flawless.
She’s described as a human female pilot that lived on the Colossus located on the Outer Rim world of Castilon. She is the daughter of a former pilot for the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and her mother is responsible for developing Doza's love of flying. Doza piloted the Blue Ace which developed her racing skills. And she is part of Ace Squadron which includes some of the most skilled pilots in the galaxy. The action figure personifies her bio beautifully. She is wearing what looks like a space-aged racing suit. And with the helmeted portrait on her head, it brings this look together beautifully. Hasbro did a fantastic job with this figure’s paint operations. And aside from a slightly uneven center of gravity, the figure meets our expectations greatly. As the show progresses, it will be interesting to see if she wears different outfits, and it Hasbro will attend to them in the action figure line.
