A cool and efficient officer, General Veers led the Imperial assault on Hoth, marching his AT-AT walkers across the planet's frozen plains and destroying massive generators powering the Rebel base's protective energy shield.

Sometimes there are vendor exclusives from Hasbro that pop up out of nowhere. A perfect example that fits this bill is The Black Series [Phase III] 6” General Veers figure. Out of the blue, this long-awaited character has finally been given the 6” treatment, and the final results are going to make 6” collectors very happy. A retailer exclusive (believed to be Walgreens as of this posting), General Veers helps 6” collectors round out their Battle of Hoth displays with completely satisfying results. Before we begin, we’d like to remind Hasbro that now they have fantastic digital files of the General Veers character completed, so it’s time to make him for The Vintage Collection as well. Because General Veers is a retailer exclusive, it’s more likely than not that Hasbro is going to utilize previous sculpts to make them, and that’s what they did here. General Veers is a heavy retool of 2018’s TBS [P3] Grand Moff Tarkin (63) with new accessories and of course an all-new portrait. The finished figure is going to meet collectors’ expectations. General Veers encompasses fantastic tooling, stunning “photorealistic” paint operations that looks just like actor Julian Glover, and interchangeability that doesn’t appear to exist nearly as much as it should in the 6” line.

Simply put, General Veers delivers. This figure is done so well that 6” collectors will be desperate for a 6” Imperial AT-AT vehicle next. General Veers comes with both outfits he donned in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. This shouldn’t be a lot to ask of Hasbro, but it’s rare when we get all the parts and accessories with figures that have different nuances with their onscreen costumes. Thankfully, they made it work extremely well with this figure, and we hope that they apply the “multiple outfits” approach to future characters wherever possible too. Including extra accessories shouldn’t just apply to retailer exclusives. It should be the way to approach the 6” with every release. General Veers comes with a wealth of accessories. They include a removable cap, a removable AT-AT Commander helmet, torso armor (exclusive to the AT-AT Commander uniform) and an Imperial blaster pistol. He nicely compliments the AT-AT Driver and Snowtrooper 6” figures recently released as well. We’re quickly collating a nice selection of characters from The Empire Strikes Back, and we hope they keep coming. They have a lot of great Imperial officers to get to now, and since they have a sculpt that they can reuse all done, they can keep popping them out.

General Veers, portrayed as he was on the Star Destroyer as well in the cockpit of an Imperial AT-AT, comes well-articulated with 30 points. But this is nothing out of the ordinary for the figures in The Black Series [Phase III] 6” line. Hasbro hasn’t gone too far outside of the box when it comes to the figures’ articulation. But generally speaking, these figures come with ample articulation. Some joints may work better on some figures better than others, but for the most part, collectors are seemingly happy with what Hasbro decides to include for their figures’ movement. General Veers is a character that Hasbro hasn’t done all that often in their long-running toy line. And when we did get an AT-AT Commander type of figure, he was rarely called General Veers. Even 2010’s TVC AT-AT Commander (VC05) figure is supposed to be a generic Imperial officer. The last great action figure version of this character was 2006’s TSC General Veers (SAGA 007) figure. This figure looks great even by today’s standards but is obsolete thanks to its limited articulation. It’s time for Hasbro to give us the definitive version of General Veers by utilizing the digital files that made this figure. Expect General Veers to be a popular 6” figure this year. Imperial officers are always a highlight for collectors, and we expect General Veers to be no exception.
