Sabine Wren: A Mandalorian Warrior, Sabine Wren is an explosives expert and graffiti artist – qualities that make her an excellent fit as one of the first Rebels against the Empire.

Darth Vader: Destined to bring balance to the Force, Anakin Skywalker fell to the dark side and arose as Darth Vader.

Well, we just fell into a new collectible format part of The Black Series [Phase III] line that we didn’t expect to like, but thoroughly do. It’s the Titanium Series Helmet line. These collectibles have been cast in a hybrid titanium alloy, molded and painted to recreate some of the most popular helmets in the Star Wars universe. Announced through the useless Hasbro Pulse online media outlet, collectors were perplexed that they would fall under The Black Series [Phase III] banner. But we’ve all quickly learned that anything with a TBS stamp on it means it’s a line that is reserved for collectors. They’re releasing multiple formats of collectibles under this current red and black line look. With Titanium vehicles already part of the mix, collectors are feeling any great pull with them because they’re being made inferiorly when compared to ones made in years’ past. But the Titanium Series Helmets line are far superior to anything produced in the vehicles assortment.

We’re happy to report that these are quality items. And since they’re in one-sixth scale, we bet that collectors of Hot Toys and Sideshow Collectibles 1:6 Scale Figures are going to be interested in what this line may provide to them. These aren’t shoddily painted quick buck money makers for Hasbro. These are extremely well painted and well done. Both the sculpting and the deco is beyond impressive. Add to this a more than reasonable price point of $14.99 (for two helmets), you really have something that should generate interest in the masses of Star Wars fans still hanging in with Hasbro until they get the line back to the way it was. In short, this is a very nice side line of collectibles. We’re very icky with how things look. These helmets are beautiful, sturdy, hefty and gorgeous. You really can’t do wrong here. It’s like getting a strong dose of Star Wars in a little package. The ratio of cost to quality here leaves the collector with the better deal. Honestly.

The Sabine Wren helmet is based on its appearance from the third season of Star Wars: Rebels. The paint job is especially beautiful on this one. The lines are ultra clean and the colors perfectly match the onscreen character perfectly. Keep in mind that this is a “realistic” interpretation of the animated style, so while the shape may not be 100% accurate, it looks stunning nonetheless. What’s more, Hasbro added an articulated rangefinder just as an extra feature here. The rangefinder is actually a soft plastic which bothers us a little bit,. But we know that a metal rangefinder would have been at tremendous risk for bending and possible breakage. The Darth Vader helmet is also based on its appearance from Star Wars: Rebels too. As you know, there is great McQuarrie influence in the show, so we love it for its resemblance to that alone. Each helmet comes with a nice clear plastic stand for easy disaply. You should definitely consider this line for your collection.
