Darth Maul: A deadly, agile Sith Lord trained by the evil Darth Sidious, Darth Maul was a formidable warrior and scheming mastermind. He wielded an intimidating double-bladed lightsaber and fought with a menacing ferocity. Though he fell in battle against Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Zabrak from Dathomir would prove to be much harder to destroy than originally believed.

Jango Fett: Regarded as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, Jango Fett was a proficient marksman with combat gear that featured an arsenal of weaponry, a sleek armored suit that concealed his scarred face, and an explosives-laden jetpack. For interstellar travel, Jango traveled aboard his well-worn starship, Slave I.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: A legendary Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi was a noble man and gifted in the ways of the Force. He trained Anakin Skywalker, served as a general in the Republic Army during the Clone Wars, and guided Luke Skywalker as a mentor.

Chewbacca: A legendary Wookiee warrior and Han Solo's co-pilot aboard the Millennium Falcon, Chewbacca was part of a core group of Rebels who restored freedom to the galaxy. Known for his short temper and accuracy with a bowcaster, Chewie also has a big heart - and is unwavering in his loyalty to his friends.

Darth Vader: Once a heroic Jedi Knight, Darth Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force, became a Sith Lord, and led the Empire's eradication of the Jedi Order. He remained in service of the Emperor the evil Darth Sidious for decades, enforcing his MAster's will and seeking to crush the fledgling Rebel Alliance. But there was still good in him.

Luke Skywalker: Luke Skywalker was a Tatooine farmboy who rose from humble beginnings to become one of the greatest Jedi the galaxy has ever known. Along with his friends Princess Leia and Han Solo, Luke battled the evil Empire, discovered the truth of his parentage, and ended the tyranny of the Sith. A generation later, the location of the famed Jedimaster was one of the galaxy's greatest mysteries.

Rey (Resistance Outfit) & BB-8: Rey is a resilient survivor, a scavenger toughened by a lifetime of dealing with the cutthroats of the harsh desert world of Jakku. BB-8 is the spherical, loyal Astromech Droid of the Resistance pilot Poe Dameron.

Hard-working TARGET Employee and Potential Holiday Gift-Giver: “[Gasp!] Oh my gosh! That is so much money!” This is the response we got when we brought our Darth Maul/Jango Fett/Obi-Wan Kenobi/Chewbacca/Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker/Rey (Resistance Outfit) & BB-8 (hold on, we need some air) TARGET exclusive multipack to the register to pay an insulting $42.39 (with tax) for eight "McDonald’s Happy Meal" toys. Sure, these eight Star Wars figures break down to under $5 each before tax, something we haven’t seen since over a decade ago, but between the horrid character selection, awful paint operations and dreadful concept, TARGET once again has been sold a bridge as Hasbro skips to the bank for selling them the minimum quantities needed for this to come to fruition. Sure, it’s possible that some parent, grandmother or friend of the family who knows a youngster who likes Star Wars may fall for this. But this is clearance fodder from the get go and it’s time for things like this to just go away forever. We ABSOLUTELY conceded Hasbro has come remarkably far with the 5POA format, but this set includes 75% total crap from the earliest days of this simple format. And they have tried to push these same figures in other failed multipacks like the Digital Release Commemorative Collection sets (did we ever figure out what those were all about yet). Does Hasbro even remember those (as well as the Hasbro defenders)?

It’s certainly easier to complain than see the good in things. We feel we do a great job at providing a completely balanced opinion about the stuff Hasbro makes in our reviews (maybe not so much on the front page). But dare we say it, this set is pretty much unredeemable. It’s time to retire 75% of these sculpts and make new interpretations of these characters that include ball-socket heads and excellent detail like the latest simply-articulated Star Wars action figures have today. It just floors us that Hasbro has the audacity and confidence to re-release 2013’s SW [DV/ROTS] Obi-Wan Kenobi (SL04) again. It has the to be worst/ugliest/awful Obi-Wan Kenobi figure ever produced. Sure, parts of Darth Maul and Jango Fett aren’t terrible, but this format needs a breath of fresh air when it comes to the Prequel Trilogy and the Original Trilogy. It’s time to move upwards and onwards and make characters from the past era of Star Wars compatible with the characters they’ve produced for The Force Awakens and Rogue One (within limits of course). The Original Trilogy characters aren’t looking any better either. Chewbacca looks like he had a stroke. Darth Vader is a conglomeration of parts from multiple films it feels like, and we don’t know where or whom Luke Skywalker is looking at with those terribly painted eyes. Obviously nothing was done to ensure better or updated paint operations with these old sculpts, which is unfortunate.

Perhaps the only saving grace in this multipack in the Rey (Resistance Outfit) & BB-8 figures. But there is nothing new here either. In fact you get less (the Build A Weapon part isn’t included obviously). Her paint operations aren’t terrible, but they’re also not as good as the Build A Weapon version. Many collectors didn’t have ease finding her at retail, as distribution is still an issue despite plenty of units getting made. We have to express that her paint operations aren’t smooth. They are instances of poorly applied paint on her torso and legs, almost as if it was a rushed application. And where her flesh meets her clothing is the most problematic. There is evidence of overspray and the lines in general just aren’t clean. She comes with Luke’s lightsaber (lit), a blaster pistol and a removable vest. BB-8 is another “wise” addition to this set. Original part of The Force Awakens Two-Packs line, Hasbro adds the “golf ball” version of the lovable droid in this set. There is one more point we’d like to add. Hasbro: PLEASE start naming these multipacks. This should have been called The Star Wars Saga Collection, or Movie Heroes And Villains Collection…. or something. Even TARGET doesn’t know how to call it on their website and because of that it’s even hard for people who know about it to find (albeit not impossible). Obviously this set is a waste of money for us, but we suppose somebody out there is going to defend its existence. There always is.
